How do you know there is 2D animation in this movie?

I’m not allowed to say anything, but I will only say that it reminded me of ‘Enchanted’ and I’m really happy about it, it was really unexpected.

Hrmmmm...
Enchanted did the same jokes better, but I’m interested by what looks like a largely female cast (didn’t know Jane Curtin was in this!).
Should be a fun watch but I’m not expecting anything revelatory.

You're right that the fairytale/real world jokes aren't as fresh, but I found it quite charming (pun not intended). I like the cast and it has potential to be a funny, feel-good movie. Comparisons to Enchanted are inevitable. People and the press are already calling it a spiritual successor to Enchanted. My only gripe is that's set at Christmas time which I feel limits its rewatchability. I would have preferred if it wasn't holiday-themed.

It looks funny and magical! Jillian Bell had me laughing on the inside and I love Isla Fisher! I agree with you guys, especially about how I wish it wasn't set at Christmas.

This film looks like something I would have been excited to see 10 years ago. Anyway, that's probably going to be a poor man's Enchanted so I'll probably won't bother with it.

It looks cute.
Funny how the Enchanted comparisons came up: given the themes and the tone, I feel like this could have worked as a (sorta) sequel to it. Especially since Isla Fisher and Amy Adams are often mistaken for one another.
And is that the 2015 Cinderella font used for the title?

Jillian Bell is known for playing acerbic and cynical characters, so it will be a fun change of pace seeing her play someone with a more optimistic and happy viewpoint.
The movie does indeed look cute. Sharon Maguire is a really good filmmaker, as proven by the Bridget Jones movies she directed, so that adds further interest for me.

Well, after seeing the trailer, I must say that it looks hokey and fluffy. But of course it`s supposed to be. Surprising to hear A Ha`s
Take on Me on it (and yes, since I`m Norwegian, I must bring it up, for patriotism

). And yes, I can definitively see the
Enchanted-vibes here. But these "poking fun of fairy tale"-premises are now dated and seems just derivate and contrived.

I didn't have high expectations for this until the other day when bruno_wbt mentioned animation, and that trailer was great! This definitely looks like a feel-good movie that we need these days!!!

I haven't paid much attention to this movie, but I really liked the logo Sotiris posted the other day (I agree that the magic wand under the title is a clever detail) and that sparked my interest in the film. So I read the synopsis and I thought it could have potential, but this trailer is exactly was I expected at first. It looks like a Disney Channel movie to me, plus it's too similar to Enchanted and I didn't find the jokes funny. It's great that it'll have 2D animation, though. I really hope I'm mistaken and it's better than it seems.

The animated scene is short but very cute.
It definitely is a feel-good movie, I had a really great time watching it.

^ I think we will take any hand-drawn animation that we can get!

And I'm glad that you enjoyed it- I'm excited to see it!

Really?

Will
Godmothered have hand-drawn animation on it? Let`s hope those parts are going to be good!

The hand-drawn animated parts was my reason to see
Enchanted (and they were the best part of the movie, regardless of it`s conscious meta-aspect).

I'm glad you liked the movie. I was going to ask you if you did, but I thought maybe you wouldn't be allowed to tell it. Thanks also for letting us now it has an animated scene. I'm really looking forward to that.

They're my favorite parts as well. I've watched the beginning many more times than the full film for that reason. The animated scenes are so magical and the film came out at a time when traditional animation was already disappearing, so it was special to me for several reasons.
