Yes, it's possible they were influenced by the animated versions. Thanks for your input! It makes a lot of sense and I've always wanted to see Disney's take on an animated human version of Robin Hood.

I went to Disney World last Summer, and there I bought what I consider to be the greatest Snow White 80th Anniversary thing ever. It's a print of artwork by Jeremy Fulton, who likes The Haunted Mansion a lot and I believe makes artwork for that attraction as well as other Disney things and he especially likes the dark and macabre which must explain why his print features so much about the Evil Queen and Snow White's death! Unfortunatley you can only buy it in the parks. Mods let me know if the image is too big and I need to resize it. Here it is:

Weirdly enough, it is also listed as number ten on Box Office Mojo on the adjusted for inflation list.
Also, just found out that Marge Belcher/Marge Champion who was the rotoscope model for Snow White, as well as The Blue Fairy in Pinocchio, is still alive.

Yeah, she is alive and well. I sent her a fan letter a few years ago, and she replied. I sent her a couple of shots from the movie and a picture of her in a Snow White costume, and she signed them all. :) It's my most prized possession, along with the autographs from Mary Costa, Lucie Dolène (Snow White's voice from the second French dub, in 1962), and Rachel Pignot (Snow White's voice from the third French dub, in 2001).

Almost hundred and her mind is still clear and strong. Surprised nobody has interviewed her yet (if they have, I haven't seen it). Impressive collection.

A new comic book retelling of the film is coming on December 03, 2019.

The tale of Disney Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is told through the perspective of the princess herself! More than a damsel in distress, she possesses a heart and soul that yearns for knowledge, love, and acceptance. Made to work in her own castle by her wicked stepmother, the Queen, Snow's world changes the day she meets her prince charming and her jealous stepmother tries to have her killed. Snow flees to the forest to hide and finds sanctuary with a family she never could have expected in the boisterous seven dwarfs. Can her heart still flourish with the shadow of the queen's hate looming over her, and only the lingering hope of seeing her prince again?

Written by award-winning author Cecil Castellucci (Soupy Leaves Home, Shade, The Changing Girl), this graphic novel revives the timeless classic of Snow White for audiences young and adult. Glimpse into the mind and heart of Snow White as she experiences love, betrayal, terror, hope, friendship, longing, and sadness, before her happily ever after.

It's super amazing and cool they are doing this! I love what it sounds like the story and Snow White's character will be like...but I hate the art style.

I kinda like the art style. Curious about her design in her classic dress.

I read that comic. I didn't really like it but it's not bad, I just didn't like the changes and Snow White's talk of light and dark all the time. Anyway, I think this should be in the Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs official discussion thread if there is one, but I watched The Hustle recently, and I actually loved that movie even though so many people thought it was bad, but in the movie Rebel Wilson pretends to be a princess, and she wears a dress that looks like a historically accurate version of Snow White's! Or it would be accurate if it had longer sleeves attached to the puffy slashed ones. But it was really awesome! It was blue with blue sleeves slashed over red sleeves, and gold for the rest. No yellow skirt, but it was still very Snow White! I feel they must have done it intentionally!

Wow, Duster, you already read it? Where did you find it? I thought it was supposed to come out on December 3.

Oh, my friend bought it and I read it when he came over. I guess it came out earlier! I'm sorry I don't know where he got it! It must be available at any comic store.
