Disney's Facebook pages "Disney", "Aladdin", "Princess Jasmine", "Genie", "Disney Movies Anywhere", "Disney Movie Rewards" etc have all recently promoted the upcoming Aladdin release. It seems almost strange to see Disney put any effort into marketing this movie that they have all but forgotten.

I think this is the first year Disney UK wont be having any 'new' releases as all Classics are readily available.
Makes me kind of sad as I used to enjoy waiting for the Platinum / Diamond releases.

I feel your pain. I feel so disappointed in the Disney section nowadays. I loved the excitement of waiting for a new release and new features. The current dvd/blu-ray incarnations are all a bit poo. I do like CEX though, I love browsing the older releases.

On the other hand, in Europe these movies will always be available and, since they barely come with any extras, people can just wait for a Special or a drop in price to get them for what they´re worth.
...I got my most hated Disney movie ever Home on the range for 10 euros.
BTW, now that I think of it...Disney is shooting themselves on the foot.
True. People more and more are into streaming videos and digital content. Still, if any company benefits more from the domestic format is Disney. How many times could they release a movie? Alice: Gold Collection, Masterpiece Edition, Un-Anniversary Edition and 60th Anniversary Edition.
Of course people knew that, at certain point the movie couldn´t look or sound better. They just got the next release for the Extras.
So, by Disney not providing on Extras and just offering the best video and audio quality, why bother getting the BD? Just get the movie digitally.

Sorry to post again but I just discovered that, to this day, there´s no review for Atlantis BD. Why is that?
...not to mention that there are movies out there that are also available on BD that haven´t gotten a review like Chicken Little, Bolt, Meet the Robinsons and Dinosaur.
True. Those movies were the first BD and the releases aren´t the best but still, we all know they won´t be getting a better release so why not review them?

DC Fan is referring to the lack of a Blu-Ray review for the film here at DVDizzy. It doesn't really have anything to do with anyone's perception of the film, more than likely, Luke either didn't receive it for review, or he didn't get to complete one within a reasonable amount of time after its release date. Newer titles take precedence to catalogue releases, so sometimes a title that's listed on the
Reviews Page may take longer to get posted, or will get bypassed entirely.
In the meantime, Luke's posted his review of the
One Hundred and One Dalmatians: Diamond Edition Blu-Ray.

Thanks for the info.
Still, for a site that started mainly as ultimatedisney.com and having all the main movies reviews already, except for those ones, then they should be there already.
PS
Escapay, you´ve always been great. Im Evil Genie Jafar. Thing is that when I got back so much time passed that I needed a new nick.
BTW, thanks anyway Mickey.
One question regarding Hunchback, now that I´m watching it and discovered that the stars blink. Was this made possible thanks to the BD or on the DVD already happened? I´m not sure. I know that it was done for Aladdin´s DVD cause it got the Platinum treatment but, again, I don´t remember if that was always the case for Hunchback.

I keep hoping that we see a Blu-ray release on Cinco de Mayo (May 5) for a 2-film collection of "Saludos Amigos" & "The Three Caballeros".
A September/October release of "The Black Cauldron" would also be welcomed!
And finally, I hope they finish off the animated classics by releasing a 2-film collection of "Make Mine Music" & "Melody Time" sometime in the Summer/Fall.
This would complete the DACs on Blu-ray!

I share the same thought that so many of you have stated....please! let the final Disney films, which have not been released to blu-ray, finally see a release date. It would be a welcome delight, to have all of the animated shorts available in HD as well. I have always felt that both "Make Mine Music" and "Melody Time" are a "poor man's" "Fantasia". While, they are not artistically innovative, and sadly, can come off a bit dated.....there are some moments of brilliance. I would LOVE to see some sort of retrospective done on these two films if there is ever a legitimate blu-ray release. "Saludos Amigos" and "The Three Caballeros" also, should be released....with "Walt and El Grupo" and "Disney Goes to South America" as bonus extras!

I sincerely hope that "Dalmatians 101: Hosted by Cameron Boyce" is the last fluff piece we ever get from Disney. I seriously felt sorry for the kid at having to be so obnoxious when presenting some of the factoids about the film, particularly that "They did this without computers!" mind-blown reaction. If this is the kind of "Whoa, what? Whoa!" attitudes that most kids have towards animation history, I want no part of it. Hyperactive, overdone, and understuffed. Disney, you know better than this. Your audience is not stupid, don't spoon-feed them this information as if Walt's era were the Middle Ages.
(And hello again, Evil Genie Jafar!)

Thanks Escapay!
You know, yes, I don´t post as back in the day but that doesn´t mean that get the feeling that the BD era it´s not the same as when it was the DVD. Back then it was so much fun and there were lots of discussions.
And to me, this all Disney fault:
1-Lack of Extras: As said before, one of the main selling points of the BD back in the day was, not only the improve video and audio quality, that because of the size tons of Extras could be included.
2-Last chance of hope for Collector´s: With the discontinued Collector´s Editions and several releases of those tiles never including those lost extras this was the last time of getting them and it wasn´t the case.
3-Extras off: So, not only Disney did not (or barely) created new Extras but also decided to take off ones that were already there.
4-Forcing the Sequels: This goes particularly for the Special Editions. Disney knows, or at least knew back then, that those Special Editions were bought by collectors- And those collectors were very picky regarding the Classics...meaning they wanted them and them alone. So, not only Disney forced the sequels on the sets (which would have been fine as just Extras) but the stamped all over that they were included.
5-Dropping the ball on awaited titles: If there were a couple of movies that truly deserved a Special treatment were: Hunchback and Hercules. Those were the only 90´s movies that never got new releases and the originals left a lot to be desired. And, what happens? Disney releases them just like the DVDs.
6-Buy them expensive: On top of all Disney expects people to buy these BD´s at full price.
