OMG

Those are amazing!!!

The Lion King one was breathtaking!!!

Wait, I have a question, picture discs are not meant to be played?
The only reason I got these 2 soundtracks was because I wanted to play them...

I wish I could buy the lion king one.. It's the only one that's not on eBay.

Just wanted to give a few updates, about the records, not the legacy soundtrack.

I finally got my record player today, and the Hot Topic picture discs sound really good! I honestly could care less about the images, the records sounds awesome!
The Frozen one on the other hand, was kinda weird. It seems like it was recorded at 33 1/2 I think. So When I play it at the normal speed of 33 it's sounds a bit slow, especially when it comes to the score.

But still, having the player and the actual records are awesome! I can't wait till I buy more!
Next on my list: Sleeping Beauty. There are so many on eBay, I can't pick one. Any advice?

Lion King is the only must-have on this list for me, that movie definitely has the best score of all the Disney movies IMO.

I'll most likely get the one for Little Mermaid, because I do love Alan Menken's music.

And maybe I'll get the one for Toy Story.

Too bad they aren't doing one for Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast. And, hell, even Nightmare Before Christmas. I know most of the music is already on the soundtrack that's out now, but there is still a little bit missing from it.

Really?? I love it! It's be nice if it also had a slipcover that went the other way and covered the three open sides though, like some digibooks.

I wish the collection used production artwork from each film or at least have someone who actually worked on these films produce new artwork.

Part of me definitely agrees that would be preferable. On the other hand though I do love consistency, which is something Disney is usually really horrible with. Having Lorelay do all of them (given that they don't decide halfway through to randomly switch artists) will certainly add to the "collection" feeling of the whole thing.

Of course, I love love *love* Lorelay's stuff, and I love whenever she takes on the classics.

I cannot wait for The Little Mermaid version … or even, any of the Menken scores as there is always so much of it missing from the general soundtrack releases !

It looks epic !

The Alan Menken soundtracks are my favorites, and I'm really excited about The Little Mermaid and Pocahontas. They better include a lot of previously unreleased score - and the Pocahontas album better include If I Never Knew You and it's short reprise (both sung by Judy Kuhn and Mel Gibson)!!

I also wish that they would continue this legacy collection so that it includes the rest of the Menken soundtracks from the 90's: Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Hercules all belong in such a collection.

Besides the Menken soundtracks, I look most forward to Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella. I wonder if they will include some previously unreleased score from the movie, or if most of the music from the movies already have been included in the regular soundtracks?

I hope this series will expand so that it also includes Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, Mulan and Tarzan (the score on the Mulan and Tarzan albums are not extensive, to say the least).

They need to do Mulan for this collection too. Unless I'm remembering wrong, the amazing music that plays during the movie when she gets her father's armor and cuts her hair and everything isn't on the currently available soundtrack.

Yeah, that only came out on the "only the Academy can have" soundtrack. Yet, it's one of my preferred scores of all time.

Can't wait for the Lion King one! I don't know how the heck I'm gonna get 'em here in Brazil, since Amazon thinks money magically appears on my pocket and wants to charge 15 dollars for a shipping rotfl

It might be cheaper through eBay. :/

The track is called "Haircut" and was actually available on the original soundtrack in the UK, among other countries (together with Vanessa Mae's version of "Reflection"):

But I agree, a Mulan Legacy Edition is a must. There are so many tracks from the amazing score that never made it to the soundtrack release.

I apologize as i am going to go off topic for a bit.
You guys are the only ones that I can talk to about music scores.
And I just have to talk about the score for How To Train Your Dragon 2.
It's fantastic and beyond this world. I can't believe how good it is.

What do you guys think of it? Am I just foolish for thinking that it's one of the best scores ever composed?

It's definitely fantastic. For me personally the first HTTYD's score was a bit more successful overall - there are more "wow" moments for me - Forbidden Friendship, Test Flight, and Romantic Flight are simply as good as it gets. But yes, the new one is also incredible. A good mix of themes from the first movie and new themes for the second. Definitely one of the best.
