Haha! The idea of Jafar having a son^^ (This whole idea sounds pretty awful to me. High School Musical with the kids of Disney villains? Sounds tragic!)

Up until now I was actually quite okay with the casting. I didn't even mind the girl they cast as Mal.

However, this guy as Cruella's son just seems such a weird choice to me! I hope the casting people know what they're doing..

The whole thing sounds like an SNL sketch....

And not a very good one at that!

That is actually the biggest problem I have with this concept (other than the fact that it basically rips off Mattel's Ever After High line).

Who would want to have a child with someone like Jafar or Cruella?! I'm actually pretty interested if we see the 'other' parents, the ones who aren't famous. I would genuinly like to know who they are..

Wow, I never even thought about it like that, but now you've said it, I'm really intrigued as to who they could be ….

But on the other hand, this whole idea for a series shocks me totally, and I'm extremely surprised Disney gave this the green light.

Especially given years ago there was a Fantasia Short that had the sons and daughters of Snow White, Cinderella etc or something to that effect, but it didn't happen because they didn't want to associate them to have hanky panky

Not that I care, but if we're going to worry about Disney's legacy, ruining their most popular villainess in a blockbuster film is much further up the line than some random Disney channel movie that nobody will see.

I guess, but honestly, I don't care about what they do with Maleficent, now I would understand what everyone was feeling if they did "ruin" Lady Tremaine, but so far Disney has not done that. Besides the animated film is still here for us to watch so I'm not joining the "Linda Woolverton has botched the greatest villainess of all time" boat.

I don't understand some things; isn't Disney against crossovers with their characters in the first place? How did this ever get greenlit?

That's what everybody has been wondering about ever since this was announced.

I love Kristin Chenoweth, but I have to agree this is a strange choice. Maleficent is obviously not going to be 'the misstress of evil' in this version but more of a comedic character. Why else would they cast someone like Chenoweth?

I remember when people compained Kristin Bauer van Straten's Maleficent was blonde. I wonder how those people are feeling now.. Especially since now it seems OuaT's live-action version is closest to the source material, character wise.

By the way, how awesome would it be if they cast Paige O'Hara as adult Belle? Considering Belle's son is the main hero character it seems certain she and the Beast will appear. Casting O'Hara would really make up for all the other casting choices. She might be too old though..

I love Kristen but this is just odd casting. One of the notable features about Maleficent is her distinct and powerful voice, which you won't get with Kristen because her regular voice is for a lack of a better word, nasally. I'm not trying to knock Miss Chenoweth down but there is just no way, they'll have her do the iconic voice, that the supposed Mistress of All Evil (Yeah, I'm not a big Maleficent fan) is known for. This just seems like such an odd choice, I'm still interested in this film but really, her as Maleficent?

Late to reply, but in the 101 Dalmatians animated sequel, there's this French artist who swoons over Cruella' s fashion sense.

So there's the daddy. (But all I can think is that their bed is mink fur... )

I don't think it's hard to imagine Cruella with someone. I mean, Paris Hilton is flat-chested and spoiled, but she's never had any problems.

I'd rather have Kristin Chenoweth be Cruella over Maleficent
