As far as feminism goes, I see The Incredibles as the best film in that regard. Elastigirl/Violet/Edna/Mirage are all pretty powerful characters without needing every empowered action to be announced.thedisneyspirit wrote: And the feminists call it "Pixar's best film". Pfft, they don't really know how to review a movie properly in the first place.
Tbh, I don't mind the characters in Brave (Merida doesn't bother me like she apparently does others--but am I the only one who hated her voice?), but the film itself is very blah. I believe I might've liked the movie more if the men's antics were cut, the witch had more of a role, and the parent-child conflict didn't feel so derivative (I feel like I've watched this same conflict at least 50 times in animated films...and it's been done much better in many other films). I didn't like how the father was basically absent in the conflict between mother and daughter at all.
