I wonder, if
The Way of Water ends up being as big or bigger than the first film, if they might really go as far out as an
Avatar 6 or
7? That's crazy, but it would definitely be interesting to explore the universe that in-depth. I guess Disney would like this to be another huge franchise for them to milk like Stars Wars, Marvel, etc.
I'm glad they found a way to bring Sigourney Weaver back for this film. It's been so long since I watched the first one. I mostly remember it being "okay"--pretty, but slightly boring, and with a lot of comparisons made among reviews between it and
Dances With the Wolves /
Pocahontas.

I can't imagine the film not doing well...it's kind of the perfect film to see on the big screen.

I just came out of the theater. Word of advice, don't drink anything the day you see this (I am not a doctor). The Internet said no end scene so head's up. James Cameron, didn't Titanic have an intermission? Throw us a bone, my poor bladder!
I need Spider to tell the Sullys that he freed Quarich. It's so shitty of him to be a part of their family and withhold that information - they'll still be hunted. I wish Neytiri could have accepted him in the past. I hope she will now...I know she was hurting - I cried so much because their son died- and that Quarich was going to kill Kiri...I GET it. But because of Neytiri's choice, Spider made that choice. Just tell the Sullys, have Spider live with Norm and the scientists, and now the Sullys and water clan will have to fight Quarich and the humans. Ugh.
So good, outstanding visuals, I was very engrossed in the story and I loved all the characters.

So does that mean the Disney+ series will be the same as the eventual film, Avatar 3, only with more content?

Yeah, I think it means they'd release it as a TV show version of the film with the extra content, so splitting it up into episodes.

Avatar: The Way of Water is coming out on Blu-ray, 4K, and 3D Blu-ray June 20th!

The original 2009 film is also receiving its first 4K release.
I really enjoyed this movie in theaters and it’s been very tempting not to purchase the digital copy. After the Disney+ release date was announced, I really thought a physical release would not come until July so only having to wait about two weeks is good news to me. The original Avatar: Collector’s Edition has to be one of the oldest Blu-rays in my collection— it will be a little trippy adding a sequel next to it on my shelf 10+ years later!
