Why? Diamond edition has become nothing more than a label. It no longer means a better release or treatment.

I am well aware at how poor the releases are, whatever the label. For example, the 'Un-Anniversary Edition' of Alice was a wonderful release with regards to content, and that wasnt a Diamond.

I like the fact of the Diamond/Platinum titles being the best of Disney; it saddens me that it has been dropped, regardless of content.

Only because Disney got lazy over the years. If they didn't get so darn lazy then the Diamond editions would still have meaning.

The Diamond editions are usually the best selling but they should just change the Diamond editions to the most successful Disney movies. It will still have meaning and poor Disney wouldn't have to put too much effort into the DVD content.

Oh.
My.
Goodness.

I am 5,000 shades of disappointed with this. Creative and Disney do not even come in the same sentence anymore.

I like it. It still is modern and I always like that design.

That is may be, but it is unadulterated laziness.

To be honest, I'm not so bothered about Disney not releasing this as a Diamond Edition. Nor am I even that greatly perturbed about them reusing cover art per se; they've done it before in the past, including with Peter Pan no less. What I don't like, though, is that all the signs seem to be pointing to this being a crummy release. Hopefully the eventual British and American editions won't be so bad, though I kinda doubt it. :(

Not a fan of the cover with the picture of the big floating Peter head, and not a fan of the fact that it's not labeled as a Diamond edition any more...

Sigh. Peter Pan is tied for my #1 favorite Disney movie. They better do this right.

I can't remember off the top of my head; most of those bonus features are a re-hash from the last release, no ?

It would be fascinating to finally see/hear more about the abandoned version of the sequel with Kathryn Beaumont. From what I gather, it got pretty far into production, then they scrapped all her dialogue.

I don't mind that they re-use the PE artwork, we have definitely seen worse cover art than this...

Neither do I mind that they probably use the same transfer as the PE transfer was good.

It annoys me though that the don't make more of an effort with the releases that does not already have a great transfer! Especially when they can release such titles as Peter Pan and 101 Dalmatians effortlessly because of the great work they did on the films earlier... They have the time to do a better job with the rest of them... Ah well...

Part of my excitement for the re-releases was anticipating the film's new and (most of the time) improved colors. Now even that is too much to ask.
