Problem is that it is so easy for these films to look perfect! They only need to make a good technical transfer.

Peter Pan's transfer has been flamed by critics and customers yet, somehow, UD had no problem with it at the time. Plus, reviews can be wrong. The treasure planet review mentioned no aliasing at first, but it's there all the time, at first glance Tarzan looks great etc etc

I will still buy the HOTR Blu-ray down the road, and expect it to look quite a bit better than the DVD, but Disney's ... ineptitude is frustrating.

Now let's hope that The Rescuers Down Under is presented direct from the digital source, and that Disney don't screw that one up.

I don't think they will. It took them 12 years to release this again, they might as well do it right. Plus, there is some form of marketing campaign going on, which is a good thing. I hope they re-render the CGI elements on this one

I actually find Home on the Range really charming! Of course it's not one of Disney's best but the negativity surrounding it it a bit OTT in my opinion.

Plus I do agree with others that Home on the Range shouldn't of got a Blu Ray release, but rather the releases of Hercules and Hunchback!

I don't think it's on par. I mean, I do see what you're talking about, I just don't think it's nearly as bad as you make it sound. Before I saw screenshots, I was expecting it to look like Fox and the Hound on VHS or something. It should be better, you're right, but it's not bad enough to be upset about. As you say though, to each their own.

Seen it more than once. It was just forgettable to me. Nothing Good sand Nothing Bad.

So....is the quality at least better than the DVD? I'm thinking of doing the double feature deal wit DMC (39.99 with Treasure Planet) since it won't be much cheaper at any store for a while, BUT if the quality is not worth the upgrade, I'll save the extra little bit of cash. It's something I might watch only once anyway and put on the shelf for completion sake.
