According to Box Office Mojo, Saving Mr Banks will be released on December 20, 2013.

I think Disney will campaign Tom Hanks hard for an Oscar nomination.

I think these are the first images of Tom Hanks in character as Walt Disney, filming at Disneyland.

Ugh.. I guess they got the hair right. Otherwise he doesn't look the like Walt at all.

I agree. He looks as much like Walt Disney as Renee Zelwegger looks like Beatrix Potter which is to say... not really. (I enjoyed Miss Potter but still.)

Well, he looks kind of like Walt. But...

Tom looks a little too chubby to play the role.

Wow. Tjis is so bizarre. I was just at Disneyland yesterday, and indeed, just outside the park, they were wrapping up something....and there were a bunch of production trucks outside. I didn't see Tom Hanks tho!

And I agree, he looks a bit chubby for the part..... but I dont know.... with the right lights, touchups, angles..... he might pull it off.

And for that matter, Emma Thompson is way too pretty to play PL travers!

Tom Hanks has always looked a little chubby for the part around the face, but even without pics of him, I can imagine him doing Walt Disney.

Edit: I also wonder if they'll get Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke-or any of the other cast members for background cameos(they cant exactly put them in the foreground unless there's a retrospective; they're too recognizable)

Also, i'd like to hear their thoughts.

IMDB lists Victoria Summer as Julie Andrews and Kristopher Kyer as Dick Van Dyke. I'm glad they didn't cast any big names for them, but I'm guessing that's because they're going to have miniscule roles.

Ha... I like those choices for Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke... they kinda look like them for real. So with the right make up, costumes.... it could be great!

In all fairness.... Dick Van Dyke looks amazing in real life as it is. I would say color his hair, and have him play himself 45 yrs ago :)

I'm not so much worried about how Tom Hanks looks, considering he'll do an amazing job in the role. I probably would be less interested in this if they hadn't got him and Emma Thompson, tbh. I like Mary Poppins alright, but that alone wouldn't have made me interested to see this.

Wow, I'm actually quite surprised at this. Saving Mr Banks is rated PG-13 for "thematic elements including some unsettling images." I thought Disney was going to aim it for a PG rating, but I guess we're now in an age where they feel comfortable giving their live-action movies higher classifications.

Also, this probably means they've finished editing the movie already, so I wonder if we'll get our first trailer with Iron Man 3 in a couple of weeks.

They probably made it PG-13 so that it's more likely to be looked at during awards season.

They've done a test screening already as well. I think they're pushing this for the Oscars. Most notably Hanks and Thompson.

To be honest, I have no idea what to expect. But I'm highly anticipating it though.
