Well, a lot of times the things we're most passionate about mean a lot to us--and make up a part of who we are. Disagreeing over a movie or something in the newspaper isn't going to bother anyone, but when it's a serious, important issue, it makes sense that that might break a friendship.

I know I've had friends who make certain comments that make me really dislike them. I try not to judge and let everyone have their opinions, but when people make those comments it becomes an unpleasant experience to be around them. Some people are better as friends from a distance. :lol:
