If we mention Slew Foot Sue, perhaps one shouldn't forget Grace Martin from Make Mine Music. I know she comes from the censored short, but nevertheless...

You're a fairly regular member on a Disney fan forum and you've never heard of Jim Hill? How?

Here's a link to the JHM article, if anyone's curious.

I'd like to know how Jim Hill manages to get people to read his articles when he always tells them what they already know.
Show of hands! Who really thinks there was substance in that article?

Now Jasmine......
The way her hair is styled for most of the movie, it looks like a scorpion's tail when I really think about it.
Now, now... Can't we just agree they're both fugly?

Interesting topic.
I have always liked Jasmine's hair. It really goes with the swirls of arabic caligraphy that they tried to incorporate into the whole look of the film. She also has that exotic look, including the tiny waist-big boob combo.
I don't think Ariel is sexy, but she IS showing a lot of skin....which i guess is enough to qualify.
When it comes to Esmeralda and Pocahontas...i don't they they are sexy. They are both too athletic and muscular. Pocahontas has the back of a bodybuilder, and Esmeralda has a strong square jaw, and Demi Moore's horrible I-have-been-smoking-for-a-decade voice...
Certainly not the first, but I think one of the sexiest ones is Meg from Hercules. She really has that sassy mae West thing going, mainly cause of her voice and performance. Sadly I HATE her visual design.
Jessica Rabbit is by far the sexiest. Slue Foot Sue IS probably the first.
Interesting no one has mentioned Belle. Is she too much of a bookworm to be sexy? :P

Esmerelda is? Looking at the pictures on the previous page I really don't see that even with her "square jaw".

They're jealous cause they wish they were hot and sexy like Esmeralda is and so they must criticize and degrade her when there really isn't any.

I think that the animators of
Beauty and the Beast deliberately made Belle more beautiful than sexy. If you'll notice, her looks are in contrast to those three blondes who are always swooning over Gaston. They're the ones who are supposed to have sex appeal.

Thank you! I've been trying to put into words why it is that they don't seem sexy to me, but I couldn't exactly pinpoint it.
Marce82 wrote:Interesting no one has mentioned Belle. Is she too much of a bookworm to be sexy?

She is beautiful, no doubt about that, but she just doesn't have the exciting attitude that goes with it.

Well, about what I said about Esmeralda and Pocahontas...
They are both beautiful women...most of the time. Just not as sexy as the others.
Esmeralda isn't as muscular as Pocahontas, but if you look at her arms, for example, there are constant hints of muscle, and a certain angularity that hints athleticism. Look at her limbs compared to Cinderella or Snow White. Believe me, SW and C never hit a gym in their lives.
As for the strong jawline... look at Esmeralda from a 3/4 view. There is no (or barely) hint of a (fleshy) cheek, or cheekbone. Look at the line that joins her chin to her ear. Very horizontal. All of this= strong jaw.
Esmeralda is also an inconsistent character visually. When drawn my Anne Marie Bardwell, she is beautiful and feminine. When drawn by TOny Fucile, she looks more like a lollipop head.... (check the Art of THOND)
At the end of the day, different people have different perceptions of what is sexy. One could say its more about attitude than looks. Hence, Jessica wins.

Although not heroines at all, some off the demons in Night on Bald mountain in Fantasia showed thief boobs. There were also the ones who were belly dancers or something and then turned into monsters.
Speaking of Fantasia, what about the centaurs? I mean if your into the whole half human thing...

Hmmm....I think you mean centaurettes. Unless we are talking about sexy guys now.
If you go to that Jim Hill article, he talks about them, and shows samples.

Big...? Oh. I guess the waist being so tiny, it creates the illusion that they're large.
Agreed with the rest though, about Poca, Esmeralda (especially Moore's voice), and Meg.

I never knew Eeyore was Like MJ or that Tigger was attracted to Eeyore in drag
and then there's that card above...
Although honestly I've really never had a crush or something about a cartoon character whether they were human or not....and I just think making goo goo eyes at a cartoon character is just well...people aren't going to like me for this but I think its just...oh let this guy tell you

For some reason, I never pay attention to Ariel's sex appeal. But last night, I did notice (and I believe this is true) that the redheaded Centaurette from Fantasia (with the white birds in her hair) was by far the most attractive of the women characters in the film. Disney redheads really stand out a lot, if not more than any of the other animated women.
Oh, and by the way, I agree with the UD'er who posted Minnie Mouse as the first Disney female given sex appeal.

But that's because you're gay. Of course you wouldn't find sex appeal in her.

A lot of gay men can find the sex appeal in certain women. Besides, I've been told by plenty of straight men that they can find the sex appeal in men.

That's very true. I'm a gay man, and I can still recongnize a sexy woman when I see one;)

I can find sex appeal in women and I'm a woman.
