I've always thought it would be great for those miscellaneous self-imposed "banned" shorts to all be put on a compilation together and call it something like "Disney Uncensored" or "Disney Uncut". The combination of this format and accompanying text/documentaries would provide sufficient context for these and other shorts, I believe.

Plus, you wouldn't risk offending "unsuspecting" consumers, because the package quite clearly states the nature of the compilation and its content.

I think the next two waves will go a long way towards determining how anxious Disney is to put their unscensored material out on any video format. We have yet to see the full contents of the Frontlines Set, and Mickey In Living color will have a few politicaly incorrect segments on its own. I think its gut check time at Disney and depending on how the publicity goes with this set, and whatever they choose to release on wave five, will determine how willing they will be to either fulfill the wants of collectors, animation aficionados and history buffs, or capitulate to the politicaly correct, gun fearing, hyper - sensitive crowd.

Having Pluto in blackface saying, "Mammy," is probably going to get chopped somehow. Having said this though, I'm pretty sure that I will plonk down my hard-earned cash for The Complete Pluto DVD set when it's released despite me having Pluto's Dream House unedited on LD (and naturally DVD-R :)).
This is on the Escape to Witch Mountain DVD complete with the "Mammy" - however Pluto isn't really made up in "blackface" - green paint, thick red lips and a paint brush on the head are used. I don't know if this is a change from the original or not.

Pluto's Dream House is actually a Mickey Mouse cartoon, and is supposed to be on the upcoming MMILC II set.

No, it doesn't sound different to me. Which region of Witch Mountain are you refering to?

I hope so.

it's dubbed to son of a meemian, or something close to that. I believe it was redubbed in the 30s.

It sounded like "mammy" to me. I will watch again tonight.

sorry, I responded to the wrong message. I was referring to the overdub of Donald in Clock Cleaners.

BTW, the number of films on the MM BW 1 set is 34, not 32.

It's the male offspring of a meemian!
