All right everyone, I'm in a bit of a predicament.

Disney has released a lot of Blu/DVD/DC combos this year, resulting in nominations for titles falling under either the UltimateDisney.com DVD Review of the Year nomination, or the Blu-Ray Disc Review of the Year nomination. I initially felt that I could count a vote for, say, Up towards the movie+DVD portion of the review or the movie+Blu-Ray portion of the review. That way, both reviewers (when two people reviewed a title) would still be credited, and the format that is nominated retains its nomination.

However, this led to the Blu-Ray category being incredibly skewed towards Disney (only one non-Disney Blu-Ray was nominated). In addition, there were not enough multiple-nominations for titles in DVDizzy.com DVD Review of the Year, resulting in either only 2 getting nominated or all of them getting nominated.

So, I'm offering three options to consider

Option 1: (original)
UD DVD Review of the Year
DVDizzy DVD Review of the Year
UD/DVDizzy Blu-Ray Review fo the Year

Nominations remain as is. Combo releases are nominated based on the movie+format. All nominations submitted for DVDizzy are officially nominated.

Option 2:
UD Review of the Year
DVDizzy Review of the Year

We return to the option of previous Awards years, simply splitting the nominations between titles covered by UltimateDisney.com and titles covered by DVDizzy.com, regardless of the format. Nominations for Blu/DVD Combo titles will be combined (e.g. "3 noms for This Movie on DVD, and 5 noms for This Movie[/ii] on Blu-Ray becomes 8 noms for This Movie). However, if a member submitted nominations in both categories (e.g. nominated Up in both the DVD Review category and the Blu-Ray Review category), it will only count as one nomination.

Option 3:
UD DVD Review of the Year (DVD only, or DVD nominated among Blu/DVD Combo)
UD Blu-Ray Review fo the Year (Blu only, or Blu nominated among Blu/DVD Combo)
DVDizzy DVD Review of the Year (DVD only, or DVD nominated among Blu/DVD Combo)
DVDizzy Blu-Ray Review fo the Year (Blu only, or Blu nominated among Blu/DVD Combo)

Rather than have a combined UD/DVDizzy Blu-Ray category, we separate both UltimateDisney.com and DVDizzy.com's nominations based on format nominated, DVD or Blu-Ray.

Let me know which option you think I should pursue. I'll give this 24 hours, and whatever the popular option is 24 hours from this post is what I'll do.

I'd say go for Option 2. To be honest, I found juggling combo packs between the nominations categories a bit challenging; I eventually confined them to the Blu-Ray category, since they technically are Blu-Rays, but just with DVD and Digital copies for "on the go". That said, my intention wasn't to rain on the other reviewer's parade (they equally deserved credit), and if Disney and other studios continue with this practice, then I would go for Option 2 next year as well.

I also like Option 2. I second the motion made by Wondy

Rats... Missed voting. But I'd like option 1.

Since I doubt more people will chime in with a vote on the options between now and 2:18 am EST, I'll consider this matter closed. We'll be going with Option 2, simply putting all format reviews under the UD or DVDizzy category.

Also, since this is a late-in-the-game nomination change on my part, for anyone who nominated more than 5 titles (as in, the total amount of titles they nominated between DVD & Blu is more than 5), don't worry about them. I'll just count them all. For example: Joe Bob nominates 5 titles for DVD Review, then nominates for 3 of them along with 2 others in Blu-Ray Review. The 3 nominations that are both DVD & Blu will be merged, and I'll still count his 2 other nominations, thus bringing his total nominations to 7. I'll count all 7 titles.

The voting process will begin in a few days. I need to re-tally up all the Review titles and acquire their links.
