I never said I was against homosexuality. If I ever implied that or any stereotyping in any post of mine, I apologize. Sometimes, I wasnt sure and Im still not. I might be bi, for all I know. IDKLazario wrote:
I think the success of the Gay thread (its' begetting multiple volumes) speaks for itself. Or the fact that it's inspired members on here who were not even totally out yet to come out despite the at least 4 members of this board who have made sure to say they think homosexuality is a sin and wrong and etc. And that's what's uncool, ajmrowland.
I wasn't implying that. I was refering to the Elton John post where you complained I was being "uncool." I just put things into perspective. Saying maybe I'm picky but that there are worse things to complain about than me.ajmrowland wrote:I never said I was against homosexuality.Lazario wrote:I think the success of the Gay thread (its' begetting multiple volumes) speaks for itself. Well, that just leaves me with one thing to say: you're not going to get every single UD'er who fits that description to answer you. And even then, no one is treating this like it's intriguing. Even Goliath is kinda striking out against the gay themed threads. This is not bringing out the best in anyone.ajmrowland wrote:I edited the title and TP so as to sound less homophobic or anti-autism(I'm autistic, remember). Well, I was frustrated because I overlooked that in the search results. they weren't listed by relevance.Lazario wrote:I wasn't implying that. I know. I was just curious.Well, that just leaves me with one thing to say: you're not going to get every single UD'er who fits that description to answer you. HUH?Lazario wrote:Even Goliath is kinda striking out against the gay themed threads.
According to the Christian religion, it is a sin, at least based on the Old Testament. Many of the laws from the Old Testament have been brought into the Christian religion, barring stuff like animal sacrifices, eating unclean meat, and specific worship practices that are part of the Jewish religion but not the Christian religion.Lazario wrote:...despite the at least 4 members of this board who have made sure to say they think homosexuality is a sin and wrong and etc. And that's what's uncool, ajmrowland..
Exhibit U, everyone. This is a joke to even the people who don't agree with me. Yet they prove my point anyway.JohnnyWeir wrote:I'm not gay or autistic. Maybe I should I that my signature for quick reference?

Where exactly, pray tell, did I "strike out against" the gay themed threads?
Either you flat-out didn't read my response to this or you're flat out saying those threads are stupid. Yes, they're very akin to "Bring On the Babble" but only at Volume 3. The fact is, they have a purpose. A meaning. A point. And they're not stupid. Therefore it's not a "Good Point" (Sorry, littlefuzzy) at all.Goliath wrote:Good point.littlefuzzy wrote:Why is this thread any more stupid than the threads asking if you ARE gay, or DO have Autism/Asperger's Syndrome, etc...?
I'm sure had I done that to begin with, I would not have done it had you not gotten involved with this in the first place.Goliath wrote:So please, do not speak on my behalf.
Still fuming over what I said to you in the Headline News thread?Siren wrote:ajmrowland, its not worth the argument. Continue your thread how you see fit. Don't let others make you feel like you did wrong, when you haven't. Carry on.
Well Search sucks. Nothing new there. I search for Platinum and MAKE SURE I click to dot the thing that says "Search Topic Title Only" and get dozens of posts that don't have Platinum in the freaking title.ajmrowland wrote:Well, I was frustrated because I overlooked that in the search results. they weren't listed by relevance.
Well... I do owe you an apology. I'm only frustrated because everyone has to fight me on everything. Then I quickly find out people aren't championing this thread, they're attacking of gay-themed threads. Or trying to reduce their importance. But that's not why I'm apologizing to you. It's because I recognize your intention was good though the means were wasteful. And because you don't deserve a thread you make to be derailed by all this. In this case, there was no way it could be helped. I didn't even realize how much resentment there was over the gay threads. I just thought the first post was silly.ajmrowland wrote:I know. Well, that is pretty much the core of Christianity (at least most Protestant Christianity, I don't know about Catholicism, etc.)ajmrowland wrote:There's another thing about Christianity: overusing the word "sin", but Im not gonna bring up religious (insert noun here).
You know, I've had it up to HERE with you deciding for other people what they meant or what they thought or what they said. I said what I said and nothing more, okay? I don't need you playing a pseudo-shrink to explain to me what *I* wrote. I have never, ever, in any way, "stricken out against" gay-themed threads.Lazario wrote:Either you flat-out didn't read my response to this or you're flat out saying those threads are stupid.
Not a single word of that has any truth to it at all or any relevance to this or any other thread.Siren wrote:Don't flatter yourself Laz. I just realize you are completely pointless to speak to. Your so self absorbed in your own world of expecting people to open their minds to your opinion, you are never willing to open your own mind. If I want to talk to a wall, I can do that anytime, not have to wait for you to grace us with you excellency.
Anyone can see you poured your heart and soul out in this reply. And yes, that is a serious thing that deserves serious attention. I'm sorry it had to happen in a thread I was in if my being here bothers you. But you could have decided to post that in any thread. Not to mention - you started out your first serious reply by responding to Prudence's objection to this thread when she happens to agree with me.Siren wrote:When my daughter was a baby, I took her out in the world. I'd take nature walks, pushing her stroller through the woods. We'd stop at some point and I'd lay out a blanket and sit down, feed her, have some lunch. I let her play in the mud.
She has never had a serious illness. She has no allergies. She is not afraid of the outside world.
While one of her friends, its a different story. They've been friends since daycare. Playdates were only allowed over her friend's house, because her mother was afraid of my dogs and cats. They might hurt her daughter. Her friends house was immaculate, all white.....frankly, you wouldn't know a kid was living there. No pets. Etc. When I did have a birthday party for my daughter and her friend came, her mother was a freak about the fact I let the kids fingerpaint. It was so "dirty" to her.
Her child is constantly ill. Has every allergy to speak of.
My own sister, she is not a nature lover. She didn't expose her kids to nature. She didn't have pets. Etc. Her daughters, especially the first one who she was even more protective of, have asthma and allergies.
I think of all the dogs and cats who get dumped when someone has a baby too, when those animals would actually help the baby NOT get sick. Even if you don't take your baby out, dogs and cats bring pollen and other outside things inside on their coats, exposing us to them, early exposure to these things can help curb allergic or serious reactions later in life.
I think when we see the rise in illnesses and allergies we need to look at how our culture has changed. 20 years ago, you didn't see this going on. Not to such a high degree. 20 years ago, technology was not where it is now. Technology is keeping people inside. Give your kid a Leapster instead of a swing set and sandbox sort of thing. We as a culture was germaphobic. All this heavy talk about frequent hand washing, hand sanitizers, H1N1, swine flu, etc. Maybe if people got out in the world more, got back to nature, we wouldn't be having these problems. Take a nature walk once a week. Go horseback riding. Kayaking or canoeing. Expose yourself to the outdoors, its the healthiest thing you can do for yourself.
I can't believe I defended you in Chat...Goliath wrote:You know, I've had it up to HERE with you deciding for other people what they meant or what they thought or what they said. Siren is right: you're just somebody who like to see himself typ. That's where these fake outrages of yours come from. And this is not the first time. If somewhere on UD, there is *no* problem, trust on Lazario to create one. Just so he can talk about it.
