My first was Cinderella back when I was 2. My family had taped it off of The Disney Channel (back when The Disney Channel actually showed, gasp, Disney movies!), and I watched that tape literally every day. There were several Disney movies I had on a constant rotation (some others that spring to mind are Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, The Jungle Book, and Robin Hood), but Cinderella was always a must. Because of that, it's the only Disney movie every member of my family is able to recognize just by watching a few seconds of it.
My first in theaters was The Lion King when I was 7. It was also my first trip to a theater, period, so imagine my awe at being in a huge lobby filled with Lion King posters and banners. The theater we went to was part of a mall, so after the film, we were bombarded by Lion King merchandise left and right in various stores. It was definitely an event.

Our Mall used to have a theater. Wont find even a trace of it now(at least, not in the public areas).

I remember seeing The Jungle Book in the cinema somwhere around '93-'94.
Cool, I missed out on the last release here, I haven't seen it on the big screen since about 1980 or so.

Same here, our mall-theater has long been gone. I remember taking field trips to it in pre-school.
The last mall-theater I went to was Festival Bay Mall's multi-floored Cinemark in Florida, where I saw Spider-Man and Pirates of the Caribbean on two separate vacations (damn I got lucky picking movies).

I miss the old dollar theaters from the midwest (they usually seemed to be situated in within a mall). I'd say about 99% of the theaters here are inside the big casino resorts.

It depends on who you ask my mom says it was Dumbo, but my grandma on my dad's says it was The Jungle Book. The first Disney movie I saw in theaters was 101 Dalmatians back in 1991.

We just got our first "mall theatre" here, it's pretty good.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, I think. My grandparents would always play that when I stayed over their house, and I fell in love with Snow White (the character).

Beauty and the Beast.
It was my first Disney movie that I could remember and the first VHS cassete tape, as well as my first movie in general. Hard to believe those things cost $30 back in the day.

enigmawing, why is Ray part of the princesses and heroines? I mean, I get Tinker Bell, but...I mean, Evangeline would make sense, or any female fairy, but...
