Cars - I enjoyed this film a lot better than I remember enjoying it. It isn't my favorite Pixar film by far, and is probably still on the bottom half of my list. But I really do love it. I'm not a big auto fan, so I don't think that aspect of it connects with me. But I love the theme, and the way the characters interact. I love how Lightning is redeemed, because he starts off as about as much of an asshole as the "villain." But the respective roles that Mater, Sally, Doc Hudson, and the rest of the Radiator Springs gang play in his epiphany are very interesting to watch, and I find him a loveable character by the end, despite hating him for the first half of the movie.

Oh, and, on a side note, Goliath definitely has a point. Low-quality special effects can absolutely ruin a scene.

- "Teaching Mrs. Tingle", orginally called "Killing Mrs. Tingle" but changed since it came out near the time of the Columbine shootings, was actually a very dark and funny film. Katie Holmes starred as Leigh Ann Watson, a straight-A student (figures...) who needs a scholorship to get into college. When Mrs. Tingle, played by Helen Mirren, accuses her of cheating on her senior project, Leigh Ann and her friends, played by Barry Watson and Marisa Coughlan, devise a plan to get their revenge on Mrs. Tingle by tying her to her bedpost and holding her hostage until she "learns her lesson."
Molly Ringwald and Vivica A. Fox also have supporting roles. Recommended.

Sherlock Holmes(2009)-simple plot, good movie, but not particularly memorable.

District 9-good concept and somewhat interesting action scenes and good story. Still, not exceptional

Reservoir Dogs (1992) - Saw this for the first time fully yesterday. It was an okay movie with a few good parts and lines, but it's not my favorite Tarantino film.

Not all movies, but oh well:

WWE Royal Rumble 1994 - 4/10 - one of the crappier events there have been
Robin Williams: Weapons of Self Destruction - 7/10 - pretty funny, but Live on Broadway is much better.
The Hangover - 10/10 - Still funny after the 4th or 5th time.
Toy Story - 10/10 - what else is there to say?

Yes, after that! It was SO totally ridiculous! His head comes off and all I could do was roll my eyes. It was SO bad.

Oh, I don't know... I find it charming compared to most of today's computerized special effects.

Don't be so materialistic. Look at the point beyond the fx. I mean, there are far worse examples of low-quality effects. Watch a Troma movie someday.

I'm actually seriously thinking of picking this up in a couple weeks. Though, not because it is or may be a great movie. I've seen it before.

Gewoon Hans (2009)

Fictional story about a real-life famous Dutch stand-up comedian. I really don't like this guy and haven't seen one of his shows in full, but instead turned them off rather quickly because I hated it. So why would I watch a film about/with him? Two words: Jamie Grant. When I first saw her in a talk show promoting the film, I instantly fell in love with her.

Julie & Julia - Pretty good; lots of funny moments and a joy to watch

I watched the Hangover for the 5th time. I am not sick of it yet.

Date Movie - Horrible, horrible POS. The only part remotely entertaining was the first 7 minutes or so. Avoid at all cost.

Watched Marnie (1964). Not Hitchcock's best, but not bad either. On the one hand it bore me, on the other hand, I still wanted to know how it would end.

Borat-some moments were lol, others kinda weird.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince-Same opinion. Good movie, good funny moments, but lacking ending. The ending isn't even structurally correct, based on the videogames. In the scenes after Dumbledore's Death, the Death Eaters leave the castle through the Great Hall and the Entrance Hall, where the Lake is, then they're on the sloping lawn, which is in the exact opposite direction.

Pulp Fiction (1994) - Watched most of this movie yesterday afternoon. It was pretty good, though there were parts that dragged on.

Gone With The Wind. I try to make this one of the first movies I watch every year. Actually I'm gonna try to make it THE first movie I watch every year. It was my second movie of 2009 but it was my first movie of 2010. Great way to start the year. (Although technically, I started my year with Barbra Streisand's 1994 concert at the Arrowhead Pond in Anaheim. )
