Remember when Toy Story was being announced for a rerelease, everyone was saying how ugly the first cover was? These new covers are so much alike to that first one!
Did you notice Buzz is the same in both covers?

I second it
Although I don't think it will happen....but I could see it happening on a Steelbook if they did a Toy Story Steelbook Blu Ray..

Make that thirds for that artwork. Although I wouldn't mind this one either:
But there are other problems that I hope they resolve before I buy:
- These appear to be single disc Blu-ray, when they should be two discs each - None of the previous DVDs features are back?!
- No Digital Copy?
- Not a big fan of Combo packs, especially when it forces the price up
So, now I'm thinking, what if Disney released these individually with the problems I just mentioned, then come November released a boxset, complete with Digital Copies and Bonus Discs. Wouldn't make us too happy, which smells like something Disney would do.

"A Bug's Life" fit (practically) all of the old two-disc DVD special features onto the new Blu-ray edition. The assumption would be that a majority of the special features from the older DVD releases aren't in HD and thus take up much less room.

A Bugs' Life also had a second BD.
But all the current Toy Story features are standard-def, with the exception of artwork and other content that can be re-rendered, so it can all fit on one disc and still have room for a couple HD extras.

It did?? I thought the second disc was the idiotic digital copy....(although I could be wrong and I can't check mine because someone borrowed it from me..)

Disc two was the digital copy.

It's conceivable that it will only be one disk. HD (or Widescreen for anything other than the movie itself) wasn't really a consideration for many in North America until around late 2001/2002 (hence Monsters Inc getting some HD supplements) which aligns with the general consensus on this forum that it's mostly going to be a port of the previous release with the movie and the round table reflection in HD.

What he said. I think a few things were lost from the two-disc DVD to blu, but I doubt they were jettisoned over space concerns. What I would expect, then, from the "Toy Story" blu-rays is not a lot of new content. Not that the old two-disc DVDs were bad, but it would be nice to have some shiny new features.

I knew there was a bigger reason why I never picked up the "Toy Story" movies on DVD...now I'll hold out until the Blu-ray's!

Oh, wait. duh! That was the DC! For a moment there, I thought it was another 3-disc set, as we've seen so many of those.

But I would imagine that the 2-disc re-releases would have extras that were done in HD. In any case, the movies are only 90 minutes long, or so, so there would still be enough room to fit some extras in it. Even in HD.

Another film that the Mouse has high hopes for in 2010 is “Toy Story 3” (which isn’t due to pop up at your local multiplex ‘til June 18th of next year). To whet people’s appetites for this highly anticipated sequel, WDSHE plans on releasing “Toy Story” & “Toy Story 2” on Blu-ray on March 23, 2010.
The only problem is … Given that many people already own DVD versions of these Pixar films, WDSHE is already anticipating that it will encounter plenty of sales resistance for the Blu-ray “Special Edition” versions of “Toy Story” & “Toy Story 2.” Which is why – back on December 10th – Mickey registered these two domain names:
•TOYSTORYSAVE5.COM
•TOYSTORYCOUPON.COM
Which is why – come March -- you should make a point of checking out the above two web addresses and then see how you can get $5 off on each of the Blu-ray versions of these Pixar films.

Is Woody Pro- Blu...
at the end of the trailer...Woody Says "If You don't Have one, Get One!" do you think that was Disney answering people who say don't have a blu ray player??? I wonder...
