That picture of Dolly is kind of scary :o She looks all crazy.

Hm, I'm not going to share any stereotype pictures/things etc. since I stray away from them.

I have been avoiding these threads because I'm straight... but I'm seriously wondering.

Is it just me or is there a higher percent of gay members here than like every other forum in existence? Not like I have anything against gays, it's just interesting. I guess that explains all the non-10 year olds liking High School Musical?

And I actually liked Wicked...

I don't think that many people here are HSM fans, so I don't really get the point of that comment.

I'm also straight, and love Broadway and things deemed to be "for girls."

And if you think this is a lot of gay people, go to ANY Broadway forum.

Hey, not ALL us gays love HSM! :P Frankly, my world would be better if kids were exposed more to the classics than this HSM mess. 8)

If you want GAYS!GAYS!GAYS, go to just about any forum for a female pop singer. Especially the obvious ones like Britney, Madonna, Kylie, Janet, Mariah, Celine, Barbra, Bette, Dolly, Liza, Judy, Christina, etc. :P

I'm also a gay who does no like HSM. Or finds Efron attractive for that matter. I don't mind a boy who has pretty features, but Zac is just a freakin' she male.

On another note, who here has seen Victim (1961) with Dirk Bogarde? It's an excellent suspense/mystery film about a respectable Barrister who is forced by a blackmailer (and to help victims of the same blackmailer) to come to terms with his sexuality, when it was a criminal offense in England to be a homosexual, and try and stop the blackmailer and get justice for the crimes he has done (among them causing Drik's lover played by Peter McEnery to kill himself). Feel free to look it up on IMDB, it was a very controversial movie at the time of it's release and was the first English language film to use the word homosexual.

The fact that this film isn't even on that top 50 gay movies list (when it should be in the top 10!) is quite sad.

I'm another gay who doesn't care for HSM.

And while I'm not exactly crazy about Zefron, I wouldn't kick him out of bed either.

Well  Efron's a mixed bag. He's the typical good-looking pretty boy who's a little too good looking for his own good. Despite his perfect features and all, he just doesn't ignite my sex drive ... at all.

I suspect that Efron's boyish good looks may have a certain effeminate nature mixed into them, and I'm not turned on by effeminate guys. Of course, "boyish good looks" and "effeminate" next to each other sound like an oxymoron ... but that's the vibe I seem to get.

Oh, and I too am gay and don't care for HSM. I mean ...I've never seen it, and don't want to.

Heck ... High School Musical is damn gay film! Who would want to watch that? :P

Your right Julian and that's part of the problem.

Zefron (may I use the word?) is naturally effeminate looking to begin with, but they way Disney plastered make-up on his face and what they did to his hair just made him look even more girly. That photo from HSM3 UD had on the main page really made him look like a women (especially when compared to Hudgens sitting right next to him). I'm sure when not made up in life and on Photoshop he looks much better, but the media image of him is not really attractive to my way of thinking.

I also have this hunch that he's probably a jerk in really life too, but that's just a hunch.

Where did you get that idea?!

I'm not stereotyping, I'm just saying it seems a lot of people like HSM, and a lot of people are gay... and I figured there was some connection. I don't mind musicals, I just hate the type where people spontaneously burst into song/dance while walking down the street, what is the point of that?

And LOL, I love how this has now turned into a thread on Zac Efron. It's gone from one thing I despise to another  (Yes that's right, I called him a thing, what are you gonna do about it?!)

You do know that that is esentially the point of a musical? Instead of constant dialogue, they use song and dance to forward the plot along.

In an effective/well constructed musical yes, but that's certainly debatable for some like HSM or even Newsies (which at least has a more than respectable song score).
