Broadway's Victor/Victoria (1995) coming out on BD July 27th, 2010! Besides Enchanted and Shrek the Third, this will be the very first Julie Andrews release on Blu-Ray!

Exciting!

I wholeheartedly agree, however for a hardcore Julie Andrews fan like myself, this release is incredibly exciting (and worth buying) because it's an opportunity to see Julie doing what she did in the first place to make her famous- singing, acting, and dancing live on Broadway.

Funny enough, I recently saw the film version and thought it was really good, great even!

What I liked the most about it was how gracefully it treated the subject of homosexuality. People talk about Brokeback Mountain being a pioneer, but I think Victor Victoria handled it very well despite the time period (despite a few uses of the F and Q worlds). The gay characters aren't over the top, they are serious people with real issues.

Andrews and Edwards could have treated the story as one big joke. But it was very well done.

I specially liked how complex the romance was in the movie. I mean here is Julie playing a woman masquerading as a man who at the same time is pretending to be a woman! She starts to has feelings towards her gay friend, but knows that nothing can come out of it. Then there's the other guy who everyone thinks is gay but has fallen in love with Julie as both a man and a woman. This forms an even more hard situation for them because he doesn't want to show people that he is gay, and Julie has to keep the charade up now that she is a star.

In any other movie it would have been a mess, but the story treats it with respect and knows that love is a serious thing, whether its an heterosexual or gay relationship.

But I'll be honest with you all... Despite some great musical numbers the one thing I loved the most about the movie was the fight scenes.

This movie may have some of the best and funniest bar fight scenes ever committed in film. Who knew that an Andrews film would be so violent?!

That's fantastic! The last I checked Julie dropped down to 13%, but she's still in second place, and I think the numbers will pretty much stand at that. Still, it's awesome to know both Julie and Carol are in the top three and maybe the people at Glee will contact them and get them on the show! I would hope they'd agree to do it!

And watch Glee, tsom, you'll love it! I didn't care for it at first but now I'm a first class Gleek!

I feel like Julie Andrews has to be in the show at some point no matter what! Heck, they even named "Kurt" after the character "Kurt von Trapp" from "The Sound of Music," so Julie has to be a guest star.

From a brand-new Chris Colfer interview-
Is there anything you can share with us that’s in store for Kurt in Season 2?
Well, I know he’s getting a boyfriend, but I’m not sure what’s going on with that story line. Recently, Ryan has said – but things could change at any minute, because Ryan likes to change things a lot – but he’s going to be a normal, every day guy that is kind of struggling with his sexuality. Kurt kind of helps him out with it, and they end up falling for each other. I, personally, am heavily campaigning to get Julie Andrews to play my grandmother.

That would be fantastic.
Wouldn’t that be great? Ryan loves the idea, and apparently, somebody actually asked her at some benefit would she be interested in doing this, and she said absolutely. So I guess all the cards have to play together.

Two new videos today-

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VzKjmxrS ... tube_gdata
In this one, a reporter asks Julie about "Glee" on the "Despicable Me" red carpet. She doesn't say much, except that the request is lovely, which seems to imply she hasn't been officially offered anything yet.

Now this one is really funny. It's for the new Oprah talkshow competition, and it features the biological daughter of Blake Edward's, Jennifer Edwards. Just in case you don't know, Jennifer portrayed Heidi in the infamous production which pre-empted a football game, forever remembered as The Heidi Game.
