Although I've been using UD for 2 years now and have never participated in Secret Santa, I'm afraid I can't do it this year. I don't have a job or money. I'm applying for a job, but I will find out if I got it after the 14th.

One question; many websites, especially Amazon.com, allow you to make wishlists. Can we make our lists and post them on the upcoming wishlist thread so give people ideas on what to get and our interests?

I know not everybody can buy online, but I think the lists does help getting a better idea on what to get.

I'm doing Secret Santa for the third year in a row.
I wonder why no one mention me.
That's for the e-mail Luke or I would have totally forgot.

Just a reminder that today is the last day to sign up for this. From a preliminary count, it looks like we have 29 people participating, so ideally assuming everyone gets approved, I think one final opening would be reasonable.

Gosh I wish I could. But getting laid off right before Christmas puts a damper on everything. I loved doing it last year and hopefully next year, I can afford it.

Aaaw :( .

Change of plans, people! All presents must be aimed towards Siren. Why? Because I said so :) .

Luke if you want one more person to notice this forum, I would suggest that you change the title and just call it "Secret Santa 2008 !!", I noticed that most UD members get attracted to short titles and exclamation marks for some reason. lol

Skellie, you've just made me realize that there isn't really too much enthusiasm for Secret Santa really. I hope that at least the small number keeps things simple for Luke.

We actually need a small number of participants and Luke has always limited the number of people who can sign up, so we're actually right around the max point. Too many people and it becomes unmanageable. I'd say there's a lot of enthusiasm. :)

For a third year in a row I can't participate. After finally turning 18, being occupied with serving in the army has put a stop to all my plans to actually enjoy Secret Santa with everyone. Have fun everyone, and play fair! The primary goal is to make others happy, not ourselves. :)

Please tell me that's a joke ... I don't want you in the army.

Me too. And by the number of sign-ups there's 3.5% more enthusiasm than last year. Gonna make 29 the cut-off. I'll start the wish list thread soon although assignments probably won't be done until Monday or so.

No joke, as it's manditory for everyone 18 of age in Israel. You can sleep quietly though, it's not half as adventurous as it sounds, and we are well trained in advance. :) Don't worry!

That's terrible!

Are you still living with your family? I hope you didn't have to "move" because of the army. And ... wait. What if you want to do something else rather than be in the army, like continue your studies? Surely you can still do that, can't you (along with army duties)?
