Just found this little blurb on the Wikipedia page on future Disneynature projects:
Penguins co-direct this intimate look at the world of penguins, with Christophe Boesch, head of the Penguins, serving as principal consultant and Alix Tidmarsh as producer. To be shot over three years in the sea ice of the Antarctican Coast and the Southern Ocean, Penguins will help us better understand this exceptionally intelligent species. Worldwide release April 22, 2012.
March of the Penguins came out not too long ago, even though it was not a Disneynature film. Too soon for another Penguins movie?

the big cats film is being released here on the 21st. to my knowledge, its the only disneynature film weve got in cinema. dad and i are going together, cant wait! they have shown the ad on tv a few times and i get chills every time.
im hoping we get chimpanzee in cinemas as well... i love chimps so have to see it. im going to try and collect the rest of the series. is the quality of the blu ray better than that of the dvd?

Big Cats? Who is narrating the movie in New Zealand? Is it still Samuel L Jackson?
I wish Pollen (Hidden Beauty) would get released here.

just got home from seeing it with dad. it was very good, but i do wish they had taken a few mins to talk about the other animals featured, at least to say what they were.
i dont think my cinema will be getting any more of these films. we were in the second largest theatre and were the only 2 there. i think at least 200 would fit in the seating, so it will make a loss i think. a real shame, but my town just doesnt have the kind of people that would pay to see a documentary.

During the credits they made some recognition of the many other animals by giving them fake titles/roles that reflected their identities. It was rather clever I thought.
Perhaps there were so few people there because this movie has been out for three months by now.

i saw that, but not many people stay for the credits, my dad being one of them. it wouldnt have taken long to say "these xxxxx are doing a mating dance" or similar. the credits were a neat idea though.
the movie only just came out here on thursday 21st july, so we went on its third day.

Can't wait to own African Cats, from what I saw in the trailer the film looked like a spirtual sequel to The African Lion. I had my nephews watch the true life adventure: African Lion and they greatly enjoyed every min. They were surpise bout the baby stampede get'tin "caught" by the lepoard.
Does anybody know how many tru life adventures were made??? and should we count the DisneyNature as part of the tru lifes or label 'em as spin off?

There were 16 produced, comprising of features and shorter featurettes. DisneyNature isn't under the same banner, but was inspired by the Tru-Life Adventures, so... maybe classify it as a spinoff?
I didn't get a chance to add these to my collection when they first came out, and they are something I want to get a hold of eventually.

Thanks Barbossa, I kinda see it as spin off too, but then again, it could come off as a sequel series. Spin Off fits best.

With the release of Chimpanzee approaching in a few months, any word yet about a 2013 Disneynature release?
