My EW magazine said October 24, but I think that's just in select cities.

Brother Bear looks very good, a lot better than Disney's last handful of efforts! It does have sort of a Tarzan feel to it. Hopeful this does well enough that Disney will reconsider leaving traditional animation for CGI, although, I dont think Disney will get anywhere with CGI without Pixar, personally, I thought Dinosaur was terrible, and didn't even look nice!

From Animated-Movies.net and http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=s ... _bear_dc_1:
Tina Turner and Phil Collins will provide songs for the soundtrack of Walt Disney's Brother Bear, Billboard reports. Turner will perform "Great Spirits" as the opening song of the soundtrack, which will be released on October 21. Collins will provide five new songs, in addition to co-writing the film's score with Mark Mancina. The titles of Phil Collins' Brother Bear songs are to be determined. Brother Bear is scheduled to open October 24 in New York and Los Angeles, and will get a wider release November 1 in U.S. theaters. The film, about a boy who turns into a bear, will feature the voices of Joaquin Phoenix and Michael Clarke-Duncan as well as "SCTV" all-stars Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas.

Hearing Tina Turner's voice in a Disney movie? Interesting. :)

The moose are based on and voiced by Bob and Doug McKenzie, The McKenzie Brothers! (Dave Thomas and Rick Moranis) It was a skit they started on SCTV and later they made a movie called Strange Brew.

Yup. It was such an exaggerated part of their characters in Strange Brew that it has become a natural part of any discussion of that movie. Ask anyone to mimick them and invariably they will end whatever line they recite with "eh". It's only natural that it is carried over here...stereotypical, yes, but natural :D

Strange Brew is a fun movie and I think it's cool to see (well, hear) Rick Moranis back in action. He took the last few years off following his wife's passing.

The early launch will certainly help the film's box office takings. Especially as November releases like The Matrix Revolutions move in to the box office arena.

Yeah, Portugues. I forgot! I remember watching a film about Brazil in Civics class a long time ago.

I love the artwork too.

Take off you hoser! Eh? Perhaps you could like, go to the theater and put a dead mouse in the popcorn bucket after you've eaten it, eh? And then go to the concessions stand and ask for your money back or a free crate of popcorn or something? Because you could say it kind-a made you totally vomit or something. That would be like a total beauty, eh? Pass me a beer.
