Hey, wait a minute! Take a look at the bottom left corner of the tower shot. Isn't that the basset hound standing on a rock, looking at the tower? I just noticed it, and those stills are pretty old...

[edit] And while we're at it! Look under the big tower window at the right side of the tower. Do you see that little hole? Well, maybe they will close up to the tower and everyone will think they are going to see the human rapunzel, but then the camera goes down and aims at this hole where the squirrel lives. Possible?

this just occured to me... perhaps a withc or somthing turns rapunzel and the prince into the squirrel and the hound. i mean seriously, why would a squirrel and a hound fall in love in the first place. If a bad guy/girl turns them into the animals to thwart their love, i could find that acceptable! Or maybe the story will have both rapunzel the princess and rapunzel the squirrel and their stories will coincide... just a thought...

and the pics are great! thank you very much!!!

That sort of crossed my mind as well. . . I guess we'll have to wait to find out.

"that's IT, we'll just poison her with this!"

"WHAT?? a squirrel?!?!?!? she was supposed to be dead! - yeah..... weird"

I hope the talking squirrel from Emperor's New Groove makes an appearance  Now that I've given up on my hope for a real movie :P

Sorry, It's not that we are not interested in them, it's just they've been posted here many times before and most people have seen them!

I suppose it could kinda be like 'Basil, The Great Mouse Detective' where we see Sherlock Homes' house but instead we go to the small hole underneath the house where Basil lives?

I still can't get my head around the idea of a squirrel and a bassett hound falling in love! Although who knows it could work out, although these pics are kind of old and we did know originally it was going to be kind of silly, and recently we have been told it is becoming more of a serious fairy tale!

I think this is going to be one of those films, when we aren't really going to be sure until it gets close to the release!

I'm finding this squirrel-basset hound storyline a little too hard to believe. I really hope its just some weirdo online playing with our brains.

Anyhow, who in their right minds think such a storyline would work? Isn't there anyone at the Disney company strongly against this?

The thing Jens and ichabod pointed out is kinda creepy. It certainly does seem like The Great Mouse Detective with the whole real Sherlock Holmes and Basil and Real Rapunzel and the squirrel. But with the Great Mouse Detective, it was based on the book Basil of Baker Street (or something like that). Rapunzel has always been human and never a squirrel.

Why not wip out the magic wand and make a nice Fairy tale musical that saved the company twice! Disney started with Snow White then the war lead him to package films and he recaptured audiences with the charming musical of Cinderella. Then during I guess the Cold War, they did all those animal films and recaptured audiences with the musical The Little Mermaid. I don't...maybe I shouldn't really be one to talk since I wasn't alive/really little during these time periods, but anyhow, it seems the change to traditional animated story telling lead to an inspired output of classic Disney films.

Overall, I just really really hope they don't go through with their squirrel thing or this will really be "Disney's Folly."

Uh.... please, no.

I was disappointed enough when I found out that Rapunzel would be in 3D, but now she's going to be a squirrel with a long, bushy tail who falls in love with a basset hound? O god, it hurts much too much.

thats strange because when I looked last time thats what it said but It looks like they changed it. Thank God! I was little worried for a while. I really hope they drop Unbraided from the title though I just don't like it . But at least Its not about squirrels and dogs

I remember reading somewhere in a topic about the Search for Mickey Mouse and someone posted that they did drop the "Unbraided" from the title. I don't know if this post is still there since it was b4 the Crash of the UD Forums.

(2 seconds later...)

Found it:

Latest thing on Rapunzel was that they were not going for a satire anymore, but musical fairytale and that they dropped the "Unbraided" from the title. I hope that is true.

I hope so too! This is the Disney movie I'm looking forward to the most for two reasons: the possible return of the Disney musical, and (of course) the lovely Kristin Chenoweth.

I hope to see some new pics soon. Those are nice but I've had those on my HD forever and people get annoyed when I ask if I want to see them since I must have asked a dozen times each.

I'm pretty darned excited about this movie. :D
