dont blame yourselves, it was our curiosities that drove us into buying the first DTV Disney sequels allowing Eisner to believe he had found his lowbudget money-in-the-bank answer, allowing things like Cinderella 2 and Bambi 2 to come into being!
If you really want to prevent a whole new franchise of shot by shot CGI remakes than the only way to do so is to not give into temptation (and curiosity) and keep everyone you can from seeing or buying Pinocchio CGI. I fear the worse for films like The Lion King ever since I saw that horribly done CGI of Zazu on the Plantinum Edition DVD

No! Stop the re-make of Pinocchio!!!
Does Michael Eisner want to distroy the Disney Classes next?
First, the cheapsequels, no re-make what's next?
Pinocchio the Broadway oh I can't think of that!!!

How about a live action Pinnochio movie starring Roberto Benigni?
I fear the worse for films like The Lion King ever since I saw that horribly done CGI of Zazu on the Plantinum Edition DVD
I wouldn't put a lot of weight on that. That was just a menu screen and things tend to look cruddy and stunted and blocky on DVD menu screens. I highly, highly doubt that it has anything to do with how Zazu may be drawn in the future.

As Christian and Aaron have said, of course, it would be interesting to see Pinocchio in a CGI version; I would like to see how it looks too.
But why should Disney put money on doing a remake of a film already made, and also
frame by frame? I think they should think of new creative ideas other than using material previously produced. It's no difference with the sequels. Remember what Walt said about having brand new ideas.

He won't be there next year. Thank goodness, because if this were to get made, Walt would roll over in his grave. It's stupid anywas.

This is so depressing. Every couple of days I get a new piece of news that reminds me of Disney's downward spiral. Eisner seems to be trying to trample everything on his way out. Hopefully he'll find his way out soon.

Maybe this won't see the light of day.

.........
Let me quote Adam Sessler from X-Play in regards to their
Cat in the Hat review (which I know has absolutely nothing to do with Disney, but I feel I have to get it out of the way):
"STOP SELLING OUT MY CHILDHOOD!"
That pretty much sums up my feelings about a potential, CGI-ied Pinocchio remake.

"for a new generation to enjoy" - Huh? They can enjoy Pinocchio on DVD, dagnabbit. Utterly pointless.
Can't people learn from mistakes others have made in the past? The remake (clouds and all) of Psycho was absolutely awful, as almost all remakes of classic films are. Even if they pull it off quite well, it's not going to top the original, so why even bother? I doubt it's just for the money (

), but if it is, surely they can just release Pinocchio 2 or some such nonsense.

Agreed!

I think if they're going to make a remake, they should do it the old fashion way. Hand drawing it, I think that's what made all of these Disney classics spectacular. But now a days people are lazy and want to use computers to compile and to animate all of these "screen shots." I mean, yeah it's faster and now we live in a world were computers, for me anyways is a way of life. But they really shouldn't mess with a classic. I rather they made a sequel using CGI than a remake.

Agree!
It needs more "magic" to make a hand-draw movie than a CGI one.
Also, as somebody stated before, why making a remarke if we have already the DVD?

Hey, why don't we colorize "Citizen Kane" while we're at it??

I think that before people start getting worked up, they need to realize that this thread was created almost 2 years ago. That's all I have to say about the subject.

Well I've never heard of it. But you're right.
