Well I anyway I did I little searching on this film and cam across some very interesting models and some concept art.

Also do you think that Tim will still use the name Victor? [seeing as it is mostly recognized with Corpse Bride]

Thank you for posting those images
DisneyDude2010.
They're obviously in a similar style to
Corpse Bride and look good. As for whether the protagonist will still be called Victor, I'm pretty sure that's been confirmed, and besides, if it changed one of the main jokes would be lost-if I recall correctly, Victor's surname was Frankenstein in the short (hence 'Frankenweenie').

Yes. Here's the official synopsis released at the recent D23 Expo:
In Tim Burton’s “Frankenweenie” young Victor conducts a science experiment to bring his beloved dog Sparky back to life, only to face unintended, sometimes monstrous, consequences.

A Burton movie without Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter? A stop motion picture in black and white?
HELL YES!!
The small downside of Victor looking surprisingly similar to Victor from Corpse Bride. Still, I'm looking forward to it.
And are there currently more stop motion and claymation productions in development than hand drawn animation, or is that just me?

It will actually be Tim Burton's 4th stop motion directed feature after Nightmare Before Christmas, James and the Giant Peach (which is personally the weakest of the set) and finally Corpse Bride. All but Corpse Bride were produced by Disney.

Contrary to popular belief, Tim didn't direct Nightmare Before Christmas and James and the Giant Peach. Henry Selick did those.

Wow! Victor looks like...Victor. But oh well. That's Burton's style and that suits me fine.
I think this'll turn out pretty good. Already I like how he's allowed to do this in black and white which I think is how it should be. But even if it is good, I don't think it will have reach the same level of charm that the live-action short version did.

Q: How are you dividing your time between the various projects?
Tim Burton: With "Frankenweenie," it's a little bit easier to do it, because you only have a couple shots coming through each day. It's like a slow-motion process.
Q: It must be extremely exciting for you to return to "Frankenweenie," considering the original short led to your demise at Disney.
Tim Burton: Maybe it'll cause my second or third demise. [Laughs.] I'm very excited about it. The opportunity to do it in black-and-white and 3-D really fits the story. For me, it's the heart of the story that we've gotten to go back to and expand. It's more of a "House of Frankenstein" kind of situation now, but also it stays with the same thing. It taps into the politics of other children that you remember from school. It's still intimate, though. It's still the basic story with a few more elements.
Q: It actually shocks me there hasn't been a Broadway musical version of "Nightmare Before Christmas."
Tim Burton: A couple of schools have done it. I think it could lend itself to something like [Broadway]. I'm just happy it's taken on a life of its own. We've resisted any kind of sequelization thing. Some things are just best left on their own.
Q: Did anyone try to dissuade you from doing "Frankenweenie" in black-and-white?
Tim Burton: I'm very grateful, because I think they understood that that was part of the emotion of it. I was very happy about that, because it's a big part of it. It's a big deal for a studio to go along with something like that. And the 3-D really suits it. With a lot of 3-D, you lose some of the detail, but with stop-motion, you actually feel more of the detail. So all the work that people put into the puppets and the spaces on the set — you actually feel it.
Q: Is IMAX interesting to you?
Tim Burton: Yeah, definitely! We're doing a test for "Frankenweenie." "Frankenweenie" is such a tactile funky project. It would be interesting to see it in that, so we're playing around with it.

I won't lie... the trailer made me tear up. I have the feeling that as morbid and dark as the story may be, it will have A LOT of sad moments, especially for us pet people who have ever lost a dog or a cat. The part in the trailer where the kid is looking for a heart beat, and then he lays his head on the dog's body and leads a tear really got to me.
It will be dark and funny, but I think it will be also very heartrending.

That. Looks. Awesome.

I don't think that I've ever seen the short in its entirety (I know, I know- I need to!)...this looks super wonderful.

Wow! This honestly looks really good! And not just in the "Oh Wow! Another Tim Burton flick!" sense. It looks like a genuinely sweet, touching film. I loved the original short and this one looks like might be as good if not maybe even better.
