Freaky Friday (1976) will be shown on the 30th at 6:00pm, but it doesn't say it will be letterboxed. Weird Disney made a widescreen release for the film.
It will likely be fullscreen and not letterbox. The last couple times that
Freaky Friday was on TCM, it was open-matte fullscreen which was odd, given that TCM is committed to commercial-free unedited OAR presentations. Perhaps that's what Disney decided to send to them.

Probably. That could be the same reason why they only have the fullscreen 117 minute version of Bedknobs and Broomsticks and not the widescreen 25th anniversary cut.

Saw a commercial for The Shaggy Dog on Disney Channel. I'm sad to say it's the new one.

Those are all great Disney classics, but I wish TCM would get a hold of more rare Disney items like Mosby's Marauders, Ten Who Dared, Escapade in Florence, etc. Hallmark shows the same Disney selections, so obviously Disney is only loaning out their mainstream classics. It's pretty sad though when Disney will loan them out and not even show them on their own pathetic channel!

I need to either get my DVD Recorder fixed or get a new one before Treasure Island airs. I rented it from Netflx and the disc was horribly distorted.
Now, why can't DISNEY CHANNEL air these? I practically have to FORCE my oldest niece to watch the classic movies (read: NON original channel movies). She did like Escape to Witch Mountain, since she asked to watch it one of the times she stayed at my house.
Its nice that they are presented commercial free.

Oh, you are SH!TTING me!
I am SO going to watch this.
And I am SO willing to pay someone to DVD-R this for me (because I'm sure Disney won't release this on DVD and I'm still pathetically holding on to my old VCR until it dies)!
BTW, it's also on at...

I have a DVD recorder...however it recently went missing the last time I had a guest sleep in my room and I slept downstairs on the couch..I have not seen it since....but I'll take another look for it....

I wondered why they were showing more Disney comedies all of a sudden...
I'll most certainly be watching that special, though!

Oh, FRICK...We get TCM at our house...but only in our living room, and the DVD recorder is in my bedroom. Gahh...If the title's any indication, Bedknobs and Broomsticks could be promimently covered, and the chances of that appearing on the future BD are slim to none. Whoever's willing to sell Albert a DVD copy let me know. You may have a second customer on your hands.

And the "ignorant kid" saves the day
I've got a DVD recorder that isn't currently missing LOL... I'd be happy to record whatever you guys want... and send it out for free. (Hey, I don't pay for it, why should I make others? (And I mean pay for the channel, obviously we pay for cable... But I don't pay to tune in, and DVDs are so dirt cheap these days that I don't mind losing like 20 cents for each one I burn.))
The only problem comes with there NOT being commercial breaks. The one benefit of commercial breaks is that I can record long programs in 1-hour mode, and change discs during the commercials. That means that if it's 2 hours long I have to use SP mode which is lower quality than the 1-hour.
The nice thing is my recorder DOES have a thing called "flexible record", so I can set any number of minutes and it'll fill the disc with that. So for the 90 minute stuff it'll be a "1.5 hour mode".
Just let me know - if someone makes a master list of what to tape and when I'd be happy to do it.
