Surprised to see some negative reactions here. I've always thought that an animated Pirates series seemed like a "duh, why haven't we thought of this" kind of thing. While the character designs could maybe use some work, I think the right people could come up with something great. I think the designs for the pirates in Disney Infinity could be a great starting point.

In all honesty... NO. Sorry, just can't imagine a full-ledged family-friendly series of this. Just... hard to imagine. If they actually do... fine with me.

That would be interesting, but I'm afraid it might not happen. Sorry.

Just trying to come up with ideas for hit shows on Disney XD and Pirates does have that potential.
I really dig the designs there especially for Infinity

When I moved into my new house in '06 I got to decorate my bedroom. I was 11 years old at the time, and I picked out some POTC wall stickers with those designs. There was a Jack Sparrow, Davy Jones, Will Turner, and a Bootstrap Bill plus some random "piratey" pieces. I took all of them off my walls a few years ago, but I've never seen those designs used before until now. Pretty neat.
I also collected those "Jack Sparrow" novels (I didn't read most of them, since I thought they were just fluff), but I thought they would have been a great starting point for a Disney Channel series (or perhaps Disney XD now).
EDIT: here's the stickers

I for one think it would be a great idea. Sadly, (outside of Marvel and Star Wars properties) Disney seems to have moved on from adapting their films into animated tv shows.
I also agree, if they ever did come back to this idea, it should be set before "Curse of the Black Pearl."
