Thanks for the post.
I know this was a couple of years ago (I think) but didn't Disney team up with another designer for Princess Wedding Dresses?
I use to have a link saved on my computer but then I had to get the computer reimaged. But they used to have 5 or 6 different designs for each princess, one example that I can think of is Belle. One of the deisgn was gold colored dress.
I tried to do a google search and I could see the wedding dresses but not the designer. What happened to that line?

What a shame... I doubt most people would even recognize that the dresses were inspired by Disney characters. At least, I wouldn't. When I think of Jasmine I think of her blue two piece outfit. When I think of Belle I think of a gold dress. Tinkerbelle, a green dress, etc. Cinderella would be an exception for me. Maybe even Ariel since the wedding was a lot of the plot. If someone is that big of a fan I could imagine them wearing a gold wedding dress lol

They are wedding dresses though!!! They have to be white and they have to be a dress!

Also, making something literally looking like what the princesses wear is unoriginal and uncreative. Good designers know they shouldn't do that. And after all, it's "inspiration", not duplication - you take something, an idea, from your inspiration and create something new.
I personally really liked the dresses!!! There has been Disney Princess bridal gowns before, I think they even had them on an official Disney site, but they were completely lacking personality in my opinion. They were too boring. These, on the other hand, do make an impression. I would definitely call them beautiful.
I think my favorite ones are Sleeping Beauty's and Snow White's!!!

I'm happy because Sleeping Beauty is my favorite Princess!

That was Kirstie Kelly. For some reason, her Disney gowns do not seem to be pictured on her website anymore. There is a link but it just takes me to the Alfred Angelo site.

just look at the comments on the page linked. most people *dont* recognize they're inspired by Disney outfits.

yeah, I actually read those comments the other day. My thinking is, if the bride is okay with no one else having a clue that it's Disney inspired then it's not a loss. But if the bride is seeking a "oh my gosh, you look like a Disney princess" reaction she might be disappointed. As long as she feels like a princess in the dress then she'll probably be happy, though.
I saw one photo of like 6 dresses and the one to the far right did scream "Disney princess" to me (in a good way, that is). Maybe the model's hair do helped, since the dress was sparkly and she had her hair done like Cinderella.

I don't know if I like the other artist's line or this line better.
Cinderella's actually seems to be based on the wedding dress in the movie, with the criss-crossed bodice thing.
However, I wish Disney would create a niche line of gowns that look exactly like the ones in the film (except perhaps more correct proportions of course). It would be for the small niche of fans who want to look exactly like the character. Fans like us, lol. ajmrowland was right on the theme wedding thing. Atlanticaunderthesea I also agree with.

Oh yes. These dresses are beautiful, but it would be so much better to have the dresses that were featured in the movie. And for the princesses who didn't wear wedding dresses, they could just produce their 'signature' dresses in white.

Those are all pretty. Cinderella's 1st, Tiana's 2nd, and Rapunzel's are my faves. I wish I could see the front of Belle's 1st, because I do like the back.

Cinderella’s second one, Ariel’s second one, Pocahontas, and Tiana’s first one are my favorites of these. Although none of them are my idea of a
great wedding dress..
