This sounds very stupid. This movie is going to have too many villains just like those 90's Batman movies. I thought the director said he hated Venom. I don’t know how they are going to condense Venoms origin in to a single movie. The Sandman and Venom are way too similar anyways. I would’ve preferred that the third movie had the Scorpion.

P.S Sandman is a part of that Science gone wrong thing.

Yeah he is one of the original villans and one of the members of the Sinister Six. He first appeared in Amazing Spider-man #4 (Sept. 1963).

I also remember hearing that the director didn't like/want to do Venom. I guess he gave in to the demands of people wanting Venom.

Anyway isn't this the last Spider-man movie to be made by Sam Raimi, and star Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst? I seem to remember reading somewhere that this was it. Has anyone heard anything about this?

well Topher Grace will be horrible. Plus, hopefully the bad romantic subplot will be tamed down from part 2.

Batman Begins also had more than one villian, and it has become one of the most acclaimed comic book movies (the three are Rah's Al Gul, Falcone, Scarecrow). Numerous villians can be done if done properly and if given to the right person. Sam Raimi hasn't disappointed me yet, I see no reason why he will now.

Well, that's one of two. That's already an improvement. People are beginning to notice a formula. Once the public gets tired of the same old explination they'll simply pass on to something more original. Adding a fresh villian, with a different background could do the franchise nothing but good.

two villians in one movie...

don´t know, if it is like the last spiderman movie we will see just 2 or 3 action sequences and the rest is going to be a long-boring blah blah blah something...as if the people who this movie is main focused didn´t knew this

I hope that this be a good movie, and no soo boring...but...what can we expect from a sequel...

Think about how many villians are in the x-men movies, or Superman II which was a good one, or Batman Returns- which was a good one. They all had more than 1 villian

I know. Even though he seemed calm (maybe a bit hurried) during his interview about doing the score for the second movie in the making-of on the DVD, it was probably taped before Raimi "turned into a different person" and Elfman left after completing an initial score. And then some scenes had to be rescored by John Debney and Christopher Young - but most of Elfman's score is left untouched.

I heard that Raimi has asked Christopher Young (who composed additional cues for Spider-Man 2, such as the runaway train sequence) to score the third movie. I like Young, but I would like John Ottman (X2, Fantastic 4, Superman Returns) to be on board for the third movie - particularly because Ottman has expressed interest in doing the third movie, if the opportunity arose.

I haven't seen any topics on Spider-Man 3...so I thought I'd just make a new topic on this! This is good news for us comic book fans! I just wonder how their going to handle things! :)

Bryce Dallas Howard Joins Spider-Man 3
Source: The Hollywood Reporter January 19, 2006

Bryce Dallas Howard (The Village) will play Peter Parker's love interest Gwen Stacy in Columbia Pictures' Spider-Man 3. Sam Raimi is directing the movie, which started filming this month.

Gwen is pivotal in Spider-Man lore as Peter's high school crush, his girlfriend and his first love. She ended up being kidnapped by the Green Goblin and died during a bridgetop battle in "Amazing Spider-Man" issue 121.

Columbia is keeping a tight lid on the third movie's story line, though it is known that Gwen is the third part of a love triangle that includes Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson.

Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst and James Franco are reprising their roles. Thomas Haden Church plays Sandman and Topher Grace a yet-to-be-named villain.

The movie is being produced by Laura Ziskin and Marvel Studios' Avi Arad. The story is by Sam Raimi and Ivan Raimi, with a screenplay by Alvin Sargent.

I thought I remembered hearing that Topher Grace was going to be Venom.

Anyway should be interesting working Gwen into the story. I'm still not sure on Venom being in the film at all. So many classic villians that could have come before Venom. Well that and I have no ideal how they will do Venom in one film. I doubt the suit will be an alien. It will probably be more like the Venom in Ultimate Spider-man.

No Topher Grace hasn't been confirmed as Venom YET. It is only knowed that Thomas Hayden Church will playing Sandmand! It has also been discussed that Topher Grace is Eddie Brock and will be Venom in Spider-Man 4.Also Harry may also become Green Goblin 2! :)

Ok good trailer, all but the end. I hope thats not how Venom ends up looking. Just a black suited Spidey? eh... Hopefully thats for the trailer only, and when Venom shows he has the huge white spider, etc...

I'm still concerned about 3 villians, and I've heard a rumor that a 4th might show. Thats a lot of villians for one movie, plus dealing with the symbiote/whatever it will be in the movie.

That concerns me also. I heard a rumor that the fourth villain is The Lizard, but I'm not sure. Also, was that Venom at the end? I thought that was Spidey in his black suit.
