Okay, have read everyone's posts, and youknow, I kind of agree with everyone. To be more specific-
MadonnasManOne- I got that you weren't intending that statement to me, but to society in general, and you're right, I shouldn't have sworn like that, but I was havng a bad day, and this thread just didn't help it get better. And yeah, this kind of is an unneccesary thread, but I'm lazy, and didn't want to have to search through Google or places for the definitions I was after, so I just asked here. Big mistake........
Memnv- As I said with MM1, I totally agree, and you're right.
UncleEd- I don't even know what you're rabitting on about with the scientist stuff, so I won't even go there.
Jeremy88- I back up your claim of being gay isn't a chocie. It's not like anyone wants to be gay, because of the propaganda surrounding around it, so it's definitely not a choice, it's what you're given by god, or whoever is up there choosing for us.
Zoltack- I think I was born gay, I've never been attracted to the opposite sex, but I do think that certain activities and your background push how gay you are. Like I think playing gridiron would make you sound and act less gay than a more flamboyant gay.
SpringHeelJack- Thanks for the invite. :) I'll definitely remember to email or IM or PM you or whatever if I need to talk. I'm thinking I might, with a few pretty crucial years in front of me , so thank you very much for the invitation. :)
Chernabog_Rocks- As with SHJ, thanks for the invite. :) I can totally relate to your position. I've come out to my sister, my twin brother, one of my bisexual friends, and on this forum, and I'm not too happy about the thought of coming out to my aprents. I think they both know I'm gay,a nd I think they'll be accepting but sometimes my dad calls me a "f***ing p**f" (I didn't say it Luke, don't ban me, please!), and that just makes me want to stay in the closet more. I'm sure that we'll need to PM or whatever, especially since homosexual relationships are much harder to initiate, navigate, and handle (and dealing with the sex too)so I'll keep you in mind if I ever need to talk, and please keep me in mind if you ever need to. It'll make these years easier to handle. :)
Lazario- I certainly second your opinion. I don't think that anyone who is straight would understand how you're just born this way, so we'll leave it to them to try to work out the scientific mumbo-jumbo to them. Simple as that, you're either gay, or you're not. Easy. And I'll try you Gay Dictionary thing too, hopefully it works, Thanks for the suggestion.
Luke-
Furthermore, James, you gotta stop with the profanity. It may slip out in speech, but in print, you have plenty of time to think, edit, and use words that actually mean something. I've warned you in the past about it. Consider this a final warning. Next time I see a new post of yours with swearing in it, you'll be suspended. There are so many alternatives to use (as in, network broadcast-able words, not asterisk-hangman replacements) that there's no reason to bring down forum discussions to such a base level.
I totally agree. It's starting to get me worried that I'm going to get banned here, but you know its my own fault, so yeah. I'll definitely try to cut back on it, it's really hard to, what with all the swearing being used all the time insociety, back that doesn't excuse me from it, so I'll give it my best shot.
PatrickvD- What is that supposed to mean? Is it your time of the month too? Because there's no other reason for that utterly dumb (above anything else) statement. I might try watching more of Will and Grace though, it is pretty good for that kind of stuff.
Siren- I agree, I was stupid, and I'll be the first to admit it. Sorry for offednign so many people here. I know that tehre are young people here reading, but for the record, I did try to let young or easily offended people know about the content of the thread with the title. I did say Mature Readers Only, but whatever, you're totally right. This is a Disney board after all.
Loomis- Yours is the nicest one yet. As I've said I will choose my words better now, and you're right about the title. It is kind of offensive.Totally right.

And lastly. Close This Thread. Luke, or Aaron, or anyone else, please lock this thread, because as of now, it is extremely pointless and stupid. Sorry again.

"Being gay however is not a choice because do you seriousley think any gay person in the begining is going to want to be gay? Knowing that the general world does not accept homosexuality? How families and friends would react to them? How personal religion plays a part in their lives? It isnt an easy life for them at first. I think openly proudful gay people are awesome for being happy with who they are."

And you know, history is FILLED With people who have chosen to do things that were against what was safe and what the crowd decided what okay. So I don't buy "Why would anyone choose not to be in the norm" debate either.

"And by the way. There are actually gay animals. Years ago it was on the news that male penguines in a zoo actually started have intercourse, and when they tried putting more female penguins in with the males, the males imply ignored them."

I would like to see that article.

"What does two dog sodomising each other have any thing to do with this topic? "

Usually people use this as proof that people are born gay so I was nipping it in the bud with my post.

"Millions have gone through rigorous counceling to try to "correct" their homosexuality. In most cases, it was not successful and in the few cases that showed a shift towards heterosexualty, they were miserable due to the repression of their feelings and they were mostly diagnosed with depression issues. Years down the road, they came out again. "

And I"ve heard that millions have been successful at swinging straight and liking it.

"I'm a little confused. In what ways is homosexuality celebrated???"

Haven't you ever heard of a gay pride parade? You don't ever see any retard pride parades do you?

"but I doubt someone could walk into a mall and yell "I'm gay" without many heads turning in disgust. "

Where do these many heads turn in disgust? I only see it being praised in the media and it's becoming the norm in middle america.

"Not if it's enviornmental. And it can be enviornmental and still be unfixable (I'm not saying anything needs to be fixed). "

See, you just proved my point by saying "It doesn't need fixing". I said that if you are brn gay it would be a birth defect. If it's enviornmental it would be an enviornmental defect. Either way it's a defect but we are so bombarded by the media at how wrong that is to say that most people feel guilty thinking or saying that.

"Didn't you learn from high school biology about dormant genes? That people can be carriers and not actually posess the trait?"

Yes but if this were even the case the gay gene pool should be shrinking, not growing. If you believe in the evolutional theory, as most gay supporters do, then the first time a gay gene would have mutated it should have died out in the first few generations even if it were dormant. It would eventually be so passive that it would never be passed on.

"It is a fact that their is a better chance for families with a homosexual member to have homosexual offspring down the line."

I've never heard this arguement but I have seen a lot of gay people with no gay family history.

" Homosexuality is still a mystery to mankind"

Just like abortion, ay? The only reason it remains a "mystery" is because people are afraid to call it for what it is: a choice and not a birth fdefect.

And I never said people wake up one day and decide "Yep, I'm gay!" There are many cases of women who have been hurt by men who become lesbians. There are cases of people who never find a straight relationship that clicks so they decide to try a gay one out. You never hear about these too often in the mainstream though...

Offering personal emotional arguments is not proof. It's biased because you can't win with facts.

"Many a wise man has told me exactly what MM1 has surmised - "Science Is Not Always Right."
Take that to heart, Uncle Ed. Prove you have one."

See above. To suggest I don't have a heart because I don't accept homosexuality as being equal to or betterthan heterosexuality is absurd.

"Any man who says that being gay is a chioce, has to be bisexual."

Nope. Not bisexual. But speaking of them, why doesn't the "Why would anyone choose this lifestyle" arguement not apply to them?

"Homosexuality is also seen in nature in "higher animals". Bonobos (pygmy chimpanzees) and dolphins have exhibitted homosexual tendancies and relationships. "

I"d like to read that article too. Gay dolphins? How do you know?

"Humans aren't all that different in the laws of attraction. Some black males like white females. And vice versa. I have a friend who is a black male and he obsesses over white females...including me Laughing He was raised in a full African American family. He is full blooded African American (as far to his knowledge) and the only one in his family to like white females. So he wasn't RAISED to be that way. He simple IS."

One thing I"ve noticed is thar in most cases when a black man likes a white woman she is a very large white woman. In black culture both in africa and the US there is a tradition of large women. I"d call that cultural though.

"The reason why people have a problem about homosexuality is because of a few OUTDATED holy books. Look, they are outdated. Face it. All of them."

Actually that is not where my views come from but calling someone's Holy Books outdated if you've never looked into them is just ignorant and stupid. I have come to find that there is a lot of amazing stuff in the Christian/Jewish Bible that is true that "more enlightened" people won't even consider because "that's outdated". Do yourself a favor and actually crack open a BIble and see what it says and not assume what's in there. It will be the best choice you ever make.

By the way, I don't rabbit. All of my views I've come to on my own without being told what to think. Logic rules my judgement and the world would be a better place if people actually thought for themselves rather than debate with emotions.

Thank you.

Uncle Ed - I would like to preface this reply by saying I respect you and what you're doing. You feel as though you are committing to the truth, regardless of how ugly it is and who it might alienate. I have to respect that. It's the nature of all people.

But, quit now, while you're already behind.

Because even though you don't mean to hurt or annoy anyone, you are still comparing being gay to a human weakness and to some extent a mental disorder.

And I simply will not tolerate that. And you have to accept that. Do you understand?

So as a measure of common courtesty... keep your confusion and ignorance, no matter how "educated" and / or "potentially truthful" you may feel it is - to yourself.

I hate to admit, at this late stage, that I think perhaps Mr. Toad was right about this topic.

A summary of previous scientific study of homosexuality in animals as well as a introduction to that current study, from the Cambridge University in Britain - the most respected university in the country.

I strongly believe it is "natural". After all, animals don't have exposure to mind-warping NC-17 films or the Devil whispering in their ear.

As for natural and unnatural. Who cares? Lots of hetrosexual sexual activities are unnatural, and let's face it, most serial killers are hetro, not homosexual, and they get all sorts of kicks from it. But even not going that far, there's all sorts of fetishes "straight" people have.

As far as I'm concerned, if two people are consenting AND it's not in my face, I don't mind what two (or more) people get up to.

And you know, with the Earth being overpopulated as it is, I would think God may have changed his mind on homosexuality since that business in Sodam.
