Ladies and gentlemen, please give it up for The Little Merman!!!
TLM: What makes a character? Is it the way he walks? Perhaps, it’s the way she talks. Or is it possibly beyond all of that---the way a person dresses. In nominating our television favorites, we may begin to see a pattern... many of them come from the very same network. TV is set up so that a few broadcast networks compete for most of the available audience while many cable networks offer a diverse range of entertainment. The nominees for Best Broadcast Network in 2006 are...
ABC
CBS
The CW
Fox
My Network TV
NBC
The nominees for Best Cable Network in 2006 are...
ABC Family
Comedy Central
The Disney Channel
Nickelodeon
VH1
And the winners are....

Here to present our next award is the one and only lord-of-sith!
lord-of-sith: Today, we live in a world where within the limits of a film, the most
amazing things can be real. But, even the most classic effects from those
such as Ray Harryhausen are still looked at for inspiration. Whether they be
octopus men, airplane rescues, floating bridges, walking dinosaurs, flying
men, mutant sea creatures, or talking cars, filmmakers continue to push the
boundaries of visual effects to the point of absolute realism.
The nominees for Best Visual Effects in a 2006 Feature Film are...
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest
X-Men: The Last Stand
Superman Returns
Night at the Museum
Cars
And the award for best visual effects goes to...

I believe Joan typically reserves her appearances for the UD Forum Awards, coming later this spring. Who knows, though, she might make a guest appearance.

Hmmm. I'm starting to think that someone (I wonder who?!) is stuffing the ballot box.

NBC the best television network!!!!!!
That is so wrong. You can tell that there are people who think that Deal or No Deal is a top-notch show. One show does not a network make. I think we should call for a recount of ballots, and elminiate all those who watch Deal or No Deal!!!
I love the fact that Amy Grant did so well, she deserves all that and more.
Don't understand what the appeal of Justin Timberlake is, I have never been able to sit through one of songs completely. Just shows that there isn't much competition out there for singers, or our voters are mostly female and under 16.
This is just my opinion, so don't scream at me!!

I'm starting to think the same thing. I surely didn't vote for Amy Grant in any of the 3 categories. Amy Grant's prime is long and gone.

I was a little surprised by NBC's win too. There are several shows I enjoy there, but they're far from the most popular network. I actually expected ABC to win (even though I wouldn't call it my favorite). Is this perhaps the biggest upset of this year's awards so far?
I would not have called Justin Timberlake's album the best of the year, but I do think it's pretty good -- it displays a level of artistry that his past efforts have not. Still, the production has more to do with it than he does. Granted, he's heavily involved in the production (for which he deserves respect), but I'd like to him hear return to more vocal-based performances in the future.
And yes, I'm thrilled for Amy.
Anyways, back to being host...
