... Awkwardly, Hermione let go of Ron's hand and moved over to Harry, holding out his birthday present.

"Another birthday for the boy who lived." she said, smiling. She turned and glanced at Ron, who urged her on. "Me and Ron... I mean Ron and I got you this. I hope you like it."

Harry smiled as he took the small package. He looked back at Ron, who stared back at him in frustration. "Well, open the bloody thing then!" Ron said, as he moved forwards and wrapped his arms around Hermione.

Without having to be told twice, Harry ripped away the wrapping, to reveal a Madness CD. Harry looked up and smiled. "Hermione, you remembered!" he said, "My favourite type of music is Ska"

I think Harry Potter is so-so. I have only read the first book and have only seen the first three movies. I kind of prefer Lord of the Rings to Harry Potter. That is just my opinion.

i actually liked the movies, i thought they were interesting. they were hard to follow, but i enjoyed them. i like harry potter much more, though, because i have the brain/mindset of, like, and 8 year old and harry potter is MUCH easier to understand.

On the subject of characters, does anyone here actually like Sybill Trelawney? Sometimes it seems like I'm the only one who does.

I like her. I think she's an interesting character, and I feel sympathetic for her in "Order of the Phoenix".

Personally, an the other topic, I really like "The Lord of the Rings" saga. I'm not a fan of Tolkien's writing style, but I like his story and the whole mythology he built up. I find the films to be excellent, and they're probably the only 3+ hour films I can watch frequently and not get bored with.

I like her! She's funny! And Emma Thompson does a great portrayal of her. And I also like Elizabeth/Norrington! (In fact I like Elizabeth/Anybody. They all are sexy men! ;))

And I just can't wait for Movie #6. I loved that book so much - the shippyness! What a glory! ;) I'm a romantic at heart (well, that's why I love Disney I guess) and that book had my favorite characters glowing with love ;)

i don't like Trelawney as much as the other characters but i felt so sorry for her when that awful Dorlores Umbridge sacked her like that in front of the whole school. :( :( :( i have a question now: who here actually LIKES Umbridge. me, i loath her with a passion. i just hope in Deathly Hallows she'll get her just desserts since she'll be in it.

I love to hate Umbridge. She's such a horrible wicked person, and I loved reading anything the students and professors did to get revenge or rebel in their own little ways against her. I only hope they left most of that in the movie.

Disneyfreak1990, I think Umbridge already got enough just desserts in Order of the Phoenix, it'd be pushing it if she got more in Deathly Hallows.

SpringHeelJack, I agree with you, I'm sure they will leave out the "hidden" revenge. By "hidden" I mean Sprout giving Harry points for handing her a pot and Flitwick giving Harry a box of chocolates. But they have to leave in the "AHHH! CENTAURS!"

don't worry they're keeping her being attacked by the centaurs in. but sadly Dobby isn't in the film :( . makes you wonder how they'll find the room of requirement now. and to me her being 'attacked' isn't enough for me since she didn't have a scrach on her, she was just shaken up or something.

Well, they did get throught the "no Dobby" thing in GoF with Neville giving Harry the gillyweed. Dobby annoys me pretty much in the movies, though, so I don't mind so much... and please, no more Umbridge! Ever! What a despicable woman!

I read that Rowling said in an interview that it would be too much of an oppurtunity to miss to not put Umbridge in the last book to torment again...I'm hoping she'll make the final cut!

A bit of a sidestep, but being as though we've just had 2007's Comic Relief night over here in the UK, I thought this from a previous year's event would tickle most people:

A unique person, who has different tastes from the majority.

I also love to hate Umbridge, even though quizzes and such sort me into Slytherin. Umbridge is an awful woman, and I'll never forgive her for sacking Trelawney and scaring her into being a drug addict!
