Cool news about Best Buy's 3D poster offer. I guess I am already committed to buying it there since I have already preordered it. Do you know how much extra the 4 Car gift set will be??

The Cars DVD 4 Car Gift Set is $29.99. My understanding is that you will be able to get the free poster with either the regular release, or the Gift Set.

What exactly are these "Cars" from Best Buy? I'm assuming they're the die-casted ones or a cheap type of toy.

Here's to hoping the 3D poster is big!

Thanks MadonnasManOne :)

You are welcome. I honestly don't know if they are die-cast, or not. It would be nice if they were die-cast, considering the price of the Gift Set.

Thanks for the info, one more question though. The gift set that includes the 4 Cars set, is that still just a single DVD or is there some sort of bonus disc (like Wal Mart and Target are offering)?

No bonus disc. It's just the single disc release, with the four CARS cars. Plus, you should be able to get the free 3D poster with the Gift Set purchase, as well.

The Bonus Disc's are only at Wal-Mart and Target. I wish there were more information on what is contained on the Target Bonus Disc, but, at this time, I don't have it.

Thank you so much for all the info! I guess I will just get Cars from Best Buy with the 3D poster and hold out for the inevitable 2-disc release later on. I'll look at the Gift Set when I'm there and decide if it's worth it, I haven't even seen the movie yet...

I think I'll buy the single disc edition with the poster from Best Buy. I may change my mind and get the giftset once I see it. I'm not sure if $29.99 is worth it for four toy cars.

Thanks!

If we assume the Wal-Mart Disc and the Target Disc will contain material from the EzyDVD disc, and we *know* what's on the Wal-Mart disc, I'm guessing/hoping we'll see the rest on the Target disc.

Wal-Mart Disc:
# Rascal Flatts "Life Is A Highway" Music Video
# Making of "Life Is A Highway" Music Video
# Making of the Music
(also includes a feature not included in the EzyDVD disc)

Target Disc:
# Life Size McQueen and Sally
# Meet Pixar's Gear Heads
# Talkin' Cars
# Cars Alter Egos
# Dinner At The Big Texan
# Day In The Life Of A Producer
# Hot Laps In Sonoma
# Worldwide Cars

That would be *heaven* if the Target disc contained those 8 featurettes!

Hogi Bear, do you know the runtimes for all the featurettese?

I thought for a few minutes on those titles because they sounded so familiar, then it hit me. Those are the Broadcasts available at the Cars website (http://www.carsthemovie.com). I remember I enjoyed watching them.

Based on the Podcasts I would estimate them to be:

# Rascal Flatts "Life Is A Highway" Music Video 4:59
# Making of "Life Is A Highway" Music Video
# Making of the Music 4:07
# Life Size McQueen and Sally 3:01
# Meet Pixar's Gear Heads 2:43
# Talkin' Cars 2:24
# Cars Alter Egos 3:38
# Dinner At The Big Texan 3:26
# Day In The Life Of A Producer 3:12
# Hot Laps In Sonoma 3:22
# Worldwide Cars 3:37

Podcasts: http://www.comingsoon.net/films.php?id=6796

I don't know if they'll be expanded or not, but the above should be about right. Some of them are interesting and some of them aren't even related to the movie (Big Texan - Eating Competition).

Oh man I don't know where to get my dvd(s). I am getting one for my nephew & one for me (since I am not waiting for an official 2 DISC release which we all know will come.)

My nephew probably wouldn't care for the extra disc (Target or Walmart) but I would definitely want it. I'd rather have a Lithograph (in a cardboard folder) than a poster, though. So, I guess I'll just wait for this weekend's ads and look at the tiny picture of the poster.

I posted this in the DVD thread, but as this one seems to be the proper place for it... there seems to be a bonus exclusive (so far) to Future Shop in Canada. When you buy Cars, you get a Steelbook DVD case for it.

Image

You can see the case there under the regular one, and I have to say it's much more tastefully designed... and the brushed-metal feel of Steelbook cases will make that particular design even nicer in person.

This one time, I may break my own rule about double-dipping and pick this pathetic release up; if only for the Steelbook case. At least I'll be able to use the Steelbook case for the movie disc of the 2-disc set that will eventually be released.

I'm willing to send $20.00 dollars for the DVD and another $20.00 to cover the package, the shipping and the inconvenience of mailing it. Once I receive the Cars DVD, I'll mail the kind person who do this favor to me, the Region 4 DVD Once Upon Halloween which a rare DVD. It's a great deal and I'll be very grateful!!!

PS. Will the Walmart edition be available in Sam's?
Reyquila, you have a Private Message. I am willing to help you, if you haven't already got someone to pick it up for you.

Also, as far as Sam's go, I don't have an answer on that one. You can give them a call. I'm sure they'll have an answer for you.
Just for everyone to know MadonnasManOne is helping me with this project!!! Thanks to him!!!

A) Best Buy for this as a litho
Image
B)Future Shop for the Logo on red hood thing like the CD as a steelbook DVD Case
C)Go to a US Wal-Mart for this.....

Or
D) Go to The US and get the Target Exclusive DVD?

I'm pretty sure the Walmart bonus disk is available at Canadian Walmarts as well, if the flyer I got yesterday (in Mississauga, Ontario) is any indication.

Personally, I'm probably going with the Futureshop Steelbook case. For one thing, it seems to be the only retailer offering this as of yet which makes it the most unique, and the eventual 2-disc Collector's Edition of Cars will render either of the available Walmart or Target bonus discs pointless.

Also, I have little interest in the actual 1-disc set of Cars... mostly the Steelbook case. I'll probably watch Cars once, run it through my computer and then give it to my cousin. I'll keep the steelbook to use for disc 1 of the inevitable 2-disc release.
