When I got up (early) in the morning and turned on the internet, I took a quick glance at Yahoo's news postings (as usual) to see if anything would catch my eye. When I saw this, I wasn't sure if I was imagining it. I think someone posted earlier that it was "surreal." That's exactly how I've been describing it all day. It is so hard to believe. It's the way you would feel if you found out someone in your family had died. It's too hard to conceive of, not only because he was so young, but especially because he was so full of life! Probably more so than anyone I can think of. Even now, it is hard to accept, and I will miss him greatly.

Shortly after I found out, I did a tribute painting dedicated to him and his family, as many folks have done on the internet. I'm just learning to paint via Photoshop (I usually work in traditional methods), but it came out okay:

I'm sorry that even if I don't type much, that whatever I say can't contribute to anything. I HAVE never seen Tron, AND it looks interesting to me. That's all I really need to say. I can't elaborate 14 paragraphs on how the movie looks interesting, and that I've never seen it. I can say it in one simple sentence. Now, I'm just wondering why I'm replying to this message, because now I feel like I don't belong here anymore. I'm sorry for the past ~1400 posts, and everyone can just forget about them.

Goodbye UD. I bid you farewell.
Sequel Of Disney Please don't leave.... I know you will be greatly missed if you leave by many UD members including myself. Please don't throw it all away.... :( Also Wonderlicious if you don't have anything nice to say do not say it at all. This is a Disney Fam Forum not the Wrestling Forum. Somethings opinions like the one you said to Sequel Of Disney is really best kept to yourself to avoid situations like this.

Also Rest In Peace Steve Irwin The Crocodile Hunger You will greatly be missed by the world. But I hope his legacy of love for animals goes on for eternity.

What a sad loss to so many people. It is astounding that he died of a million to one chance freak incident after all the crazy dangerous things he has done.
Stingrays have hardly ever been known to attack & if you get stung on the foot for example, it is possible to visit the outpatients & go on your way. But in the chest near the heart had the effect Steve suffered.
If your time is up, it's up, the crocs never got him but an accident did. At least he enjoyed life to the full, we just need to pray his family recieve the strength to get through this & get on with life, as i am sure he would want.
The Irwin family & friends, our thoughts & prayers are with you.
Could we all be sensitive to each others feelings & show respect in this kind of a thread, thanks.

Not to start something, but it was SoD who decided to be the callous and insensative one. He was the one who should have kept his opinions to himself for this was a sensative issue about the death of a good man. He has NOTHING nice to say, so don't jump on Wonderlicious when SoD was deffinetly no angel him/herself. At least Wonderlicious heart was in the right place with the post. Emotions run high when someone dies, especially when someone comes on an attacks that person, of course that person's fans are going to stand up to them. Maybe to avoid these situations, SoD should think before he/she types. If you had a friend who died, would you want someone to come to the funeral and say something like that? Do you think it was approrpiate with what SoD said? Wonderlicious did a very HUMAN thing, he spoke from his heart, due to the emotions he was feeling over Irwin's death. At least he wasn't being cold-hearted.

If he wants to leave because of this, so be it. I think its stupid to leave over this one argument. Besides, most people who make a public goodbye like that, always come back anyways, so why bother?

Siren...I know that you didn't want to start something, but thank you very much for defending me whilst I was off the forun for a while (aka I was sleeping).

Lets get back on topic all right. Let's not turn this into a Sequel of Disney discussion. If he wants to leave after he wrote some unneccesarily mean remarks about Australia's favourite Croc Hunter who is loved the world over, he can. Lets forget about it and keep this thread to discussing the wonderful life and legacy of Steve Irwin.

Yes, its very sad that he died. He'll definitly be missed. Though I do find it quite ironic that with all the dangerous creatures and animals he's been around he dies by something that isn't normally dangerous because of a freak accident. As others have said I hope his family gets through this ok. Especially his two kids.

I am quite sorry...

Wonderlicious Sorry for attacking you like that. I guess that is what I get when I don't Read the entire thread....I kinda just skimmed through it. But I quite agree that SoD should have kept his remark to himself about Steve Irwin. Again its a point of If you don't have anything nice to say (or Type) Dont type or say it. Also I really hope SoD does not leave the forum for good. He still will be missed if he has decided to leave.

From this point on let's Just move on and talk about the life of Steve Irwin. Also The Animal Planet has been showing stuff about Steve Irwin all day and night. Also tonight on CNN Larry King is going to interview Steve Irwin's Camera Man who witnessed what happened. So Check your local listings to see what time Larry King Live is going to be on.

My daughter is drawing a pic to send to his family. I found the Australia Zoo's (His zoo) address. Besides the drawing, I am going to send a sympathy card as well.
Steve Irwin's Family and Friends
C/O Australia Zoo
Glasshouse Mountains Tourist Route
Beerwah QLD Australia 4519

I haven't posted my message to his family yet on www.ripsteve.com, as I am trying to find all the right words for it. Trying not to forget anything I want to say to Terri, his family, and friends.

Has anyone seen anything about Wes Mannion, Steve's "best mate"? I saw an interview with one of his producers and cameramen, but now Wes. I know they were the best of friends, so I am guessing he is taking his time to grieve before he comes on publically. Much as with Terri. Wes and Steve were like brothers. All of Steve's biggest moments, Wes was there. I am sure it has taken his toll on him, as Steve saved his life before.

Steve also was once an avid surfer. After his latest knee surgery, he wasn't able to surf again, which he was never content with. I'm sure where ever he is, he is surfing again, seeing his mother again, caring for his dogs, Bindi and Suey, his giant tortoise Harriet, and Mary his beloved 100+ year croc.

I have nothing to say except that it's his own fault. He knew he was putting himself in idiotic danger, and he died because of his lack of being, well, smart. I don't feel for him because I never liked him and found him to be a stupid idiot, no offense to him or anything. It's just his fault, and he paid the price. He shouldn't have done what he has done all of those years, because he knew, sooner or later, that he would die from this. I knew that he would die because of this. Well, that's all I gotta say.
From this statement you are either heartless, or just a punk-kid who is trying to get noticed by being indifferent to someone's loss.

Steve Irwin was probably the kindest, gentlest person on this earth and did more for the endangered species of animals of the world than any two other people combined.

He died doing what he loved, and we should all be so lucky as to go doing what we love to do.

Your remarks are totally uncalled for, and if Luke has any heart, he will censure you for this statement. What were you thinking?

Hey, don't worry. I didn't really consider what you wrote as an attack anyway, so there's no need to worry. :)

One shouldn't keep his/her opinion back just because it might not be the one of the majority? Don't get me wrong, I don't approve of someone being rude, but the way some of you are presenting the problem you make it sound like that one should only reply to a topic if you have a certain look on the relevant subject.

I was hardly a fan of Steve Irwin. I had no specific opinion about him before the incident where he brought his barely two months old son in, while feeding a fullgrown crocodile and actually placed him on the ground, while his attention was elsewhere. Do what you will with your life, but don't bring someone else in danger. Especially not a child who has no way of defending itself.

Still, my thoughts go out to his wife and children and everybody else who knew him personally. It's a tragic accident :/ No-one deserves to die.

Alexia, my daughter, and I spent the past few hours working on a video together. She "directed" it by telling me where to put what picture and she picked out the song. I just put the pics where she wanted them, most of this video is her creation. I can see she will also be a great video maker one day. And I think making it was a small piece of therapy for her, as much as making some videos makes me feel better too.

And I put the RIPSteve.com URL on there too. I have a feeling this video is going to get a lot of attention on YouTube.

I wonder if the upcoming movie "Happy Feet" will be dedicated to him, he did a voice in the film.

I wouldn't doubt they already have the credits created at the beginning in rememberance of him.

The Little Merman, thank you. I was somewhat difficult to make, emotionally wise, but I really wanted to do something else

I'd like to remind everyone to please post with sensitivity when something like a death arises. Also, as with any discussion here at UD (tragic or otherwise), please avoid any and all personal attacks. There is no reason why this thread should need to be closed so I ask everyone to please use discretion and consult the Forum Guidelines if necessary. Thanks.

Siren, I'm sorry I didn't say it when I posted last. That tribute you & you're daughter made was simply touching. I had chills & I admit that I was moved so much that I teared up a bit. Great job!

I give him three days.

I used to love watching the Crocodile Hunter and thought Steve was both an amazingly intelligent person and a hoot to watch at the same time. I heard this news and just couldn't believe it. I feel so sorry for Terri and the kids. Steve Irwin, RIP.

Also, I know some of you have asked we no longer talk about it, but TSoD if you are truly leaving, I can honestly say I couldn't care less. You've always seemed annoying to me and the comments you made on here sounded like they came from a kid with a paper head who doesn't check his facts. Goodbye and farewell.

No cheers for mourning,
JM
