I keep hearing about these bookends in this thread, but I haven't seen or heard about them outside of here. Does anyone have any pictures??

May I introduce you to a wonderful SITE called Ultimate Disney! It's got a lot of DVD news, reviews, and release schedules, all at the click of a button if you know where to point the mouse. Or, you can just scroll to the top of this page, and you'll see the links:

But if you can't do that, just click this link: Ultimate Disney - Upcoming Cover Art

Scroll down to December 12, click the image, it'll take you to the full picture.

In the meantime, here's the smaller one:

I really want this

I guess I just thought the book ends were little figurines or something along those lines. Now that I know they are book ends I really want them. I think they would look really cool on my bookshelf (with my Chronicles of Narnia book set) :) Another question though, are the book ends going to be available everywhere, or just certain stores?

Since they are handling the release the exact same way the New Line handled "The Lord of the Rings" extended sets, I'm assuming the book ends will be available everywhere, but in more limited supply than just the 4-disc set without them. I remember with each LOTR film, it was easy to find the book ends/statues sets everywhere for the first month and then they began to become hard to find. Since Narnia will only be available for 2 months, I'm assuming Disney will readily produce these until the end date instead of doing as New Line did and making X ammount of each statue. I'm not a huge Narnia fan. It didn't draw me in like LOTR, but I'm excited about this set becasue it feels like a 4th 4-disc LOTR set is on it's way simply because Disney took Peter Jacksons gift set idea and cloned it. lol. My brother will be getting this set and if Narnia draws me in the second time I see it, maybe I will buy my own 4-disc set.

I am so looking forward to this 4-disc set. I have been a huge fan of Narnia since I read "The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe" about 12 years ago when I was in the 5th grade. I'll have to keep my eye out for those book ends, thanks for the info, goofystitch

Aren't the new LOTR discs branching and flippers?

i have the 2 disc and i'm really satisified with it. at the end of the day, the extra extras look cool, but there are other things i would want to get.

Just so you know, when you put a 4 hour film on a DVD alongside an extra 2 hour film, the compression is so great that you severly limit picture quality. I'll stick with my 4-disc sets of LOTR any day over the highly compressed poor quality re-releases.

i heard the quality was less than the EE was across 2 discs but better than the theartrical dvd set

Still need this movie AND Kong, and I don't know when I'll get to get them. However, while I'd LOVE to get the 3 or 4 disc versions, I wouldn't be too surprised if I end up with the 2-disc versions. I want to avoid the single disc one though. Same situation with every movie I want that comes out with single and 2-disc versions. Really dying for that 2-disc of Phantom of the Opera. I prefer it when they just release 2 discers, because they are much more affordable than when they give you a choice. It would be nice to have Narnia before this Christmas, but I won't count on it with the fact that I have so much other stuff I want and am currently broke anyway.
