I'm excited.

As I understand it, it's a live-action adaptation of the Chinese tale, not the 1998 Disney film. Disney happens to be financing it, but I don't expect Zhang Ziyi to start singing "Reflection" or for a CGI version of Cri-Kee to be jumping about. It's someone else's movie being made with Disney's money. That's all.

I love this idea! I hope Disney will do the same with Aladdin, Hunchback, Hercules, Pocahontas, Beauty and the Beast etc, etc. Bring on the live-action versions a la Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland. It will be familiar stories, but it will not be live action copies of the animated Disney films.

Oh, well then I'm okay with this. I'm kind of excited now, actually.

Thank you, Disney! :thumb: The world seems more right now.
But isn't it odd that since Disney apparently isn't making it, that the idea of the movie appeals to me more?

ooh.. another Mulan adaptation. This has been adapted last year in the mainland which starred Zhao Wei. It just feels weird that you are going to see two movie incarnations of the same story in just a small amount of time

Anyway, I feel glad that Disney is not involved in this.
They need fresh ideas!

Is it possible to be dissapointed and relieved at the same time. I mean, I do think disney needs new ideas, so its good that their not doing it. on the other hand a well done Mulan in live action has potential, and this Tomb Raider director is sure to waste it.
