On another forum someone picked it up already.

First complaint - The pilot episodes are the "time cut" (cut to fit commercials in) (Syndicated versions) ones from TV.

He said it was all he watched so far so I am waiting to see what else they say.

Yeah, so I've heard. :x I was expecting to see the uncut version.

I just bought it yesterday, and was also a little disappointed to see the opening sequence of "Darkly Dawns the Duck" being cut... it's weird without that sequence, because later Darkwing re-encounters one of the thugs he caught in the beginning, and if people see the cut version they'll be puzzled why the thug said he wanted to take revenge on Darkwing. Disney's just being lazy this time, my old VHS bought in 1994 was uncut!

Thankfully the picture quality is pretty good for a 1990s animated TV series.

Is it true that there are banned episodes of this series? I read somewhere that they will be excluded from further volumes of Darkwing Duck. What kind of content from an afternoon cartoon could cause it to be banned?

p.s. I also heard that there are banned episodes of Talespin too.

Yeah as far as I know there is one banned episode of Darkwing Duck and Two from Tale Spin. Rescue Rangers even had a couple. I believe they were:

DWD: "Hot Spells"

TS: "Last Horizons" & "Flying Dupes"

CNDRR: "A Lean on the Property" & "Battle of the Bulge"

The good news is that "Battle of the Bulge was included on the first volume of Rescue Rangers. I REALLY hope to see them all in some form or another on the series DVD sets, I mean what is the point of saying like episodes 1-27 if they are going to skip some...stupid. So here's hoping. It stinks that they are keeping the edited versions BOOO!!!! At least I have the original Darkwing Duck Pilot from VHS as well as both rescue rangers episodes and part of Flying Dupes. I would really love to see Hot Spells and Last Horizons again though they were two of my favorites. I will promise you all that if I am ever at a position at Disney to change this I won't have to think twice. :)
