Ya got me there.

Not quite. Belle didn't have a wedding dress. She had her peasant dress and her dancing dress. And besides, that blue/green dress for Giselle looks nothing like a wedding dress. Possibly the white poofy one is a wedding dress, but that must mean she was about to marry before she was cast into the "real world".

yeah, that was exactly what I meant anyway  I think it's actually in the story description that the evil queen pushes her down a well right before the wedding.

I cannot wait for the release of this movie since will be partially 2D-animated and with music by Alan Menken. I really hope there will be more 2D animation in the feature. I've missed it so much. 2D just feels more intimate and nostalgic.

P.S. Does anyone has stills/sketches of the animated characters? I have only found photos of the actors for the live-action part.

I haven't really heard much about this new film, but if it is 2-D and has Alan Menken on it, it sounds like Disney is taking a step in the right direction. Can anyone give me a synopsis of the film??

A princess (played by Amy Adams, I think), is magically transported from her animated fairy-tale world to the real world of New York City by an evil villianess (played by Susan Sarandon). James Marsden (Cyclops from the X-Men movies) plays a prince who comes looking for the princess and Patrick Dempsey (Dr. Sheperd from Grey's Anatomy) also stars.
I'm thinking the prince and Dempsey play her two love interests.

yes, and she sings the movie's theme song. And she sings a duet in the movie with James Marsden (X-Men) near the end of the film. What I've read is that she and the prince return to the traditionally animated environment and sing their song.

thank god. Although I knew it'd be only a matter of time before we actually heard any word on here singing in the film. It was more a matter of when and not if. I mean with Stephen Schwartz involved, her singing was rather a given. I can't wait to hear it. With the comination of Menzlel, Menken, and Schwartz on this, the music should fall nothing short of spectacular. Are there any other details known at this point about music in the film?

Enchanted New Pictures and Videos!

The closest we're getting to seeing the animation from Enchanted would be images of Queen Narissa in front of the green screen, the prince in front of the green screen, and a ballroom set, from this site.

But I have more than pictures, friends! You can see a very brief shot of that green scene in a video here! Just scroll down to the bottom where it says 2006-"Enchanted" Promotion in very light green above a picture of Idina Menzel with some girl in a blue dress. It interviews the actors and reveals some tidbits, even a few bars of the music!

And speaking of hearing some of the music, you can hear some of it in this clip! Watch the whole thing. It sounds like someone singing, "to live happily ever a-", and it stops. But my conjecture is that Princess Giselle and her new Manhattan boyfriend are on a boat ride listening to music (ala "Kiss the Girl") played by Spanish musicians in sombreros, and then Princess Giselle starts singing to the music.

Idina=Love!

It is really reminiscent of "kiss the girl" I'm glad we're finally starting to see a bit more of this movie mentioned, hopefully if its done right, then music will become a factor in disney movies again.

having Enchanted's songs created by Menken and Schwartz is indeed a step in the right direction....too bad Lasseter dropped Menken from the next completely 2d movie "Frog Princess" for Randy Newman.

Upon re-examination of the YouTube clip, it sounds like Princess Giselle sings, "Everybody wants to live happily ever af-". So now we know one lyric, and from it we can guess that the song will be about the princess learning happily ever afters aren't always the way we envision.

Disney Duster, I've never heard of a new Disney movie called "Enchanted". That new movie had live-action & animation. Reminds me of "Song of the South", "The Three Caballeros", "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" and a few others.

I remember a scene from "9 to 5" where Violet was mocking Snow White played by Lily Tomlin with a few bits of animation where she was making coffee with rat poison. That scene looked exactly what the new movie is about.

I'm really excited about this movie to come out, since a lot of great musical people as well as actors are involved (Yay, Dr. McDreamy!!!)
I simply love Amy's dresses, both the big pouffy one and the blue regency-ish one.
Also, a score by Schwartz and Menken will be fantastic, and I adore Idina Menzel's voice!!! There's so much great stuff about this movie. I hope it'll live up to our expectations

Menzel Makes More Enchanted Info Known!

Idina Menzel Talks About "Enchanted"

Idina Menzel Provides a Few Details on "Enchanted:" "Amy Adams is playing this princess in a real fairy tale world. It starts out with eight minutes of animation, like a spoof on Disney, and she plays this princess, and James Marsden is the prince. They fall in love in one day, they sing a song where they find each other, and the birds sew her dress. Susan Sarandon is the queen and hates her, and she pushes her down a well so that she won't marry her son. So, she falls in a well and ends up in a manhole in New York City. And then it's a real life, New York City romantic comedy."
Mendez plays Patrick Dempsey's fiancee in the film, "a cool fashion designer, New York chick that is sort of jaded about love." Although Mendes said more on "Enchanted," the rest of her interview had to be edited - at the request of the studio - to remove a potential spoiler.

Idina Menzel Gets Animated: Asked if she's seen sketches of what she'll look like in animated form, Menzel said, "A little bit. I went over there and they are very excited about showing you that kind of stuff. It's such an amazing process. It's cool to see yourself animated."

The Song Style of "Enchanted:" Menzel said hers is a Disney style song. "There's a couple songs in it. Stephen Schwartz and Alan Menken are writing the songs for it and he [Schwartz] wrote 'Wicked'. It's a big-budget movie. Amy is going to be great because she's got to do that princess, fish-out-of-water thing in the middle of New York. It's a romantic comedy with music and some animation in it. It's kind of clever."
Okay, well on top of Patrick Dempsey's character being a divorce lawyer, we now know that Idina's character Nancy will be his fiancee! The fact that she will be seen animated leads us to believe that she will enter Princess Giselle's animated world, Andalasia(supposedly the name of the kingdom). So, will there be some huge animated climax with these characters battling against Queen Narissa? I hope so!

I also love the French. The member Prince Kido at the French Disney Central Plaza has amazing information.

Behold, the first images of the traditionally animated Princess Giselle:

Her hair will be redder in the finished animation, I'm guessing, to match that of Amy Adams. Still, these images defianetly garner a :o from me.
