I'm hoping they will release a non-3d version also. I'm not able to see in 3-d.

I have a lazy eye. (My left eye is the dominant one, and my right, while it can see, doesn't focus on objects like my left.)
If seen without special glasses, the picture will look doubled, right?
That sucks for me.
I don't even know if it will be released in my city anyway, I live in the middle of the desert, and we only have one big movie theater.
Will We See A Normal Nightmare?

Aw, Drawken, I'm sorry that you aren't able to enjoy 3D. James Cameron plans to release his Titanic in 3D and is trying to get other studios and directors to release their movies in 3D also. But if 3D were really all that enjoyable, they would have done a lot more in 3D and we wouldn't just be starting up again now(in the past, there were some 3D movies made but it obviously didn't last very long). It can be annoying, like the glasses you have to wear and the way the film looks without them.
I'm actually wondering if they will only release the movie in special 3D theaters or if we'll be able to see it in 3D no matter what theater we go to. As for your question, Chicken Little was released both in a regular version and in a 3D version around the same time, so there is hope that you will get to see the original, classic, normal version on the big screen when they release the 3D version! Have you ever seen it on the big screen before, Drawken? I saw when I was a kid, but I arrived late and missed the beginning.
And where do you live that's in a desert? Sound like it's hot but kind of fun.

I am SUPER excited about this, I saw Nightmare in theathers when I was really young and I hardly remember going so I am really excited to see one of my favorite movies not only on the big screen but 3D also!
Best Halloween surprise EVER!

I'm one of the lucky ones who had a theater that was able to accomadate Chicken Little in 3-D so I'm assuming it'll be the same for Nightmare. My only complaint is it's probably gonna be full of 12-year old scene kids who didn't know it existed until Hot Topic released the merchandise and even then they still haven't seen the movie.

But oh well I'll still enjoy myself.

Cool have not heard that Titanic was going to be released in 3-D too. I dont have a theater around here that will play The nightmare before christmas so I will have to talk my parents to go to chicago possibly for a Family Vacation since I live in the middle of no where near Saint Louis. I am a Big Titanic fan of the ship before the movie came out. Anyway Could you provide a link to where you found out about Titanic 3-D?

Amen to that. To me all that merchandise killed it's magic for me alittle bit because of the MASS overexposure of seeing it on every freaking scene kid on the planet. Wear a t-shirt or two! Dont wear Jack on shoes, pants, bag, hat, and freaking underwear!

I know I would enjoy it so much more now, since I really don't remember if I saw it in theaters as a kid. Besides, I have so much more respect for animation than I did back then.
By the way, I live in the California Desert and, yep, it's hot. It's currently 110 degrees. The swamp cooler helps keep the temperature down inside, but does nothing for the humidity. Needless to say, whenever I'm home, I stay downstairs, only going upstairs to sleep.
As for the fun,
I enjoy living here.

If I remember correctly, it basically looks like several copies of the 2-d image barely overlapping. The images are kind of blurred to.

It's only in Digital 3D, not IMAX 3D. Because where I live the theatre just down the street from where I live has an IMAX screen, and used to have a Digital screen, but for some reason they no longer have a digital projector (there's no digital theatres in Canada outside Ontario and Quebec). So, looks like I might have to drive all the way down to Seattle just to see it in 3D.

Here's links for the 3D trailer:
http://progressive.playstream.com/scree ... 15_b25.mov (Small - 2.6 MB)
http://progressive.playstream.com/scree ... 15_b26.mov (Medium - 5.9 MB)

I haven't seen Nightmare Before Christmas, something I should hire from the video shop I guess. We have only 1 IMAX screen in New Zealand, so I probably won't see this one, but I really wish I'd seen Beauty and the Beast at IMAX.
Anyway, enjoy!

Why does everyone think it’s an IMAX release?

Good Trailer but it should have been longer and showed a tad more of the film without overlaid narration. Thanks, Hogi!

Shouldn't it have been filmed that way in the first place to make it work properly?
I can't give exact specifics seeing as I don't know alot about it. I only know what my older brother told me. Superman Returns was the first to utilize this new way of making films 3-D. They basically are now able to take anything shot in 2-D and make it 3-D. I know it has something to do with digitally isolating the part they want to stick out and then doubling it so it would look 3-D through the glasses. I don't know much more than that. Having said that, I just saw Superman Returns in Imax 3-D and it was awesome! I had already seen the movie, but the big screen and great sound and 3-D segments made it so much better. I hear George Lucas wants to do the Star Wars films in digital 3-D, but is waiting until there are more digital screens. He wants it to be a wider release I guess.

For all the UK people, a note:
The Nightmare Before Christmas will be getting released in 3D form on 1st December. I know that it misses Halloween, so some may be peeved, but I personally have always considered
Nightmare to be more of a Christmas movie than a Halloween film as it has a kind of twilight magic feel to it, so I'm happy.

I remember when I went to see Chicken Little in 3-D, that I took off my glasses and the film looked a little strange because of the 3-D treatment. I think you could watch it, but I think there might be some ghosting effects on it. Did anyone else see CL in 3-D that can comment on this?
I am not a fan of NBC. I rented it last year and just thought it was too dark a film. It's depressing, IMO. Sally's limbs falling off grossed me out. However, its a huge cult film; I always see tons of kids at Disneyland walking around in goth/NBC garb. NBC licensing and merchandising probably makes Disney a lot of money.
They will be showing it at El Capitan in 3-D, but I am not sure I will go to see it. My only interest would be in experiencing the 3-D effect and by buying a ticket, thereby encouraging Disney to do more in 3-D.
Disney doing all their classics in 3-D... that would obviously be seen as a gimmick just to make money and I would imagine they'd receive heavy criticism from purists (including most UD forum members). However, as a 3-D enthusiast, I'd probably pay money to go see all their classics done in 3-D at the theater!

Hopefully Edition #3 will be both anamorphic and two-disc.
Knowing Disney, they'll do the following to a two-disc TNBC:
-Make it Anamorphic (which will likely be the only reason for current-dvd owners to pick it up)
-Drop the commentary and trailers
-Add a featurette or documentary, which will have no real style or substance, but is enough to be called new and enough for people to buy it
-Add a game or some other interactive kiddie feature
-Create a music video for "What's This?" with some undeserving tween star.
