hmmm... this sorta smells like a Bambi II a little bit.. maybe Ariel's Mom was killed by humans, but Ursula poisioning her could be as well, or Ursula lured Trition's wife into a net or something...

Ursula being a Nanny? can't see her singing Spoonful of Sugar (Maybe Sulfur )

I've thought of some other crazy possibilties for TLM 3

Ariel and an Octipan (Ursula's race) become friends after Triton and the Octipan's Uncle tell bad things about each other. Triton and Fred( the Octipans Uncle) obiovously disaprove until Ariel and Sam (the young Octipan) come up missing.. Triton and Fred blame each other until Flounder tells them they're trapped in a cave which is blocked by boulders. Triton and Fred come to the cave and Tritons destroys the boulders using his Trident when asled where they were Ariel and Sam . Ariel says they just wanted to be friends in spite of their relatives feelings..Triton and Fred forgive each other and lets Ariel become friends (not mates) with Sam.

Melody and the Merboy we saw at the end of TLM II have some type of adventure and Morgana somehow gets freed from her Icicle prison (my guess would be she landed on an underwater Volcano) comes up with another plan to take over Atlantica/The Ocean, Ariel and Co stop her , the Merboy becomes human and Melody and him live Happily until the next sequel..

there's more... but I don't wan't to type anymore at the moment,. :p

If The Little Mermaid 3 will be a prequel classic and it'll be all about Ursula, Triton, Ariel's mom, etc....will Pat Carroll still be the voice of Ursula? I mean, she's turning 79 years old on May 5 and I think Ursula will be younger in the movie. So, I think her voice will not suit the character...

I think it would be great to still have Ursula have that old voice, because it just shows that she's never changed through the years, she's still evil and the voice seems to go hand in hand with that.

Pat Carroll in The Little Mermaid III?

Ummmm...yes, her voice should always sound evil, but it would be hard to believe and just plain weird if her voice always sounded that old. In fact, if Pat Carroll provides the voice for a prequel with Ursula from the past, she will actually sound older than Ursula in the future, when the first movie took place. That would be really weird too.

I agree that she probably wouldn't sound younger, but she definately wouldn't sound older. Pat Carrol returned to voice Ursula in Kingdom Hearts II and her voice didn't sound any older than how it did in the actual film. Heck, she even sang a brand new, original song in the game, and her Ursula voice didn't sound the least bit different from the movie.

But still, even if THM3 was a prequel, I don't think they'd make Ursula look much younger, if at all. I mean, if the movie really does turn out to be a prequel describing Ariel's birth/childhood, the most they can go back in time is 16 years, and since Ursula was already pretty old in the first Little Mermaid, I don't think the animators would re-design her, since she wouldn't have changed all that much.

C'mon, Escapay, it's obvious that I was talking about The Haunted Mansion 3, in which Eddie Murphy teams up with Lindsay Lohan and a very confused mollusk to investigate a haunted castle under the sea, where they meet the dreaded half-shark, half-dolphin monster, the sharfin.

That's what this thread is REALLY about, right?

That actually sounds a lot more interesting than a TLM prequel!

The Haunted Mansion 3: Attack of the Sharfin

Of course, we need a Haunted Mansion 2 first in order to have a Haunted Mansion 3...

Let's see...Eddie Murphy can team up with Ellen Degeneres and Matthew Broderick as they investigate a haunted film studio where production halted on "Finding the Nemo King", when a few ghosts came in and killed all the actors.

I agree with you, but that didn't stop Disney from having Flounder sound older in the TLM TV series than in the movie.

Well, I think Ursula's voice (if she's in the 3rd installment at all) is a non-issue. Pat Carroll should return to do the voice. It's not really the same character without her.

I don't seem to see or remember much criticism towards the fact the Pat preformed the voice of Morgana (or should I say Ursula II?)

Why am I not surprised?

TLM doesn't need another sequel...the first two were enough. And, personally, even though the first two movies weren't necessarily bad, I never really liked the first one that much to begin with...

Of course you're not going to enjoy the 3rd one, if you didn't like the first one- which is a really hard thing to happen to someone who really likes animation IMO. I mean you don't even have to discuss this, I wouldn't see a sequel if I didn't like the original, it's completely pointless. Ariel needs a sequel only for those who like her and support her. Everyone else can buy that Winnie's Boring Company Adventures or the 11th sequel of Lilo and Stitch!

Okay, the recently-announced elements of Little Mermaid that we already know about, are;
1.A musical sneak peek of the 3rd movie is going to be included in the TLM:PE.
2.The Little Mermaid III is going to be a prequel.

As for the second one, as I've said before, it's, IMO, both good and bad. It's good because we're going to know everything about Ariel's past. It's bad, because I wouldn't like to watch a movie with an 8-year old Ariel.
What do you think? Do you mind watching a movie with a little Ariel or not?

Why does Disney keep making sequels to movies that don't even need sequels to begin with. I hope this is all just a joke.
