You're still young enough to get away with free candy, go for it.

Er. . . I'm probably gonna dress as enigmawing, I'll just need. . .

* long dark skirt with silver stripes
* dark tank top
* dark blazer
* black boots
* psuedo-intellectual black-framed glasses
* top hat
* necklace with large pendant (preferably a cursed Aztec coin)
* cane

Guess I'll have to buy a cane yet. :lol:

What, don't you recognize her? She's been on the Simpsons. Or was it Daria? I dunno, maybe I was thinking of Kim Possible. Hmm. . .

Yeah, I'm eccentric like that. . . or maybe just a little crazy. . . who needs halloween to dress up anyway?

Ha, I also have a pic of my character on a Kim Possible episode (hangin' with Family Guy's Quagmire, no less). I don't know how to post it here, but it's on my "My Space" page: http://www.myspace.com/slave2moonlight

Anyway, I haven't finished making my slave2moonlight costume, and I'm very busy this Fall, so I think I'm going to have to pull out my Fred Flintstone costume from last year. That can be seen in my Deviant Art gallery: http://www.slave2moonlight.deviantart.com I don't know if I'll go anywhere in it (actually, there's nowhere on it to carry I.D. or cash), but maybe I'll just wear it to pass out candy. That's what I did last year, despite working so hard to make the Water Buffalo hats (which came out way too big, ha). It was still fun, and people want to take pictures with you, so that's fun too. Plus, I'll probably still deck out the table with my graveyard cake and other goodies, so that'll be fun, ha.

So sad, folks who think they're "too old" to have fun...

I just spent a long time in Wal-Mart (from about midnight to 1:20am) finding what I need and I was surprised that they have just about everything. I was the Joker once, but I had a horrible time with the Purple suit issue. There was nothing I could buy for it and I tried to make it myself, but I'm no hand at making clothes. I ended up wearing a black trenchcoat over the "suit I made so that just enough showed and you couldn't tell how bad it was, ha. Still, it looked pretty darn good, especially since I did a kickbutt job with the make up. Wish I'd used poster paint to make my hair green though. What I used didn't work too well. Still, my friends and I took first prize in a club costume contest as the Batman villains!

so it goes wrote:I'm going as Andy Capp from the comic strip and hot fries. Only because all my other ideas where to expensive and with this I can wear all the clothes whenever, not just as a costume.

I really wanted to be a cowboy but couldn't justify the cost of all that I wanted to make it a good costume just for a 5 hour rock/show dance party that isn't even on halloween. Oh well, at least I get the fun of explaining what my costume is to everyone.
I HATE not being recognized. A few years back, I went as Billy Peltzer from Gremlins. I couldn't believe no one could tell who I was supposed to be! I was dressed the same and had a backpack with a Gizmo furby in it, chattering away, blinking his eyes and all. I also made two plush evil gremlins (that came out great) which I sewed onto my clothes like they were hanging from me.

Oh, I love that pic, it's hilarious!!! :lol:

And at the risk of getting OT- I love the song you've currently got on your page. . . I had that on a record when I was a kid but hadn't heard it in years! :D

Ha, thanks. I'm slowly trying to turn my werewolf character (which evolved from my online handle, slave2moonlight) into a comic strip or late-night horror show host (which is why I'm currently working on gloves and a mask to match the digital look I created in the photos on that site over some pictures of me). Yeah, I LOVE that song too! I hate picking a favorite song, but that could be it, ha.

this year I'm going out with a bunch of friends. I'll either wear my Mario costume, my Link costume, or my Ariel (on land) costume! I even have a tiny Sebastain to go with it. I'm wearing that Oct. 3rd for sure!

I don't know what I'll be. Two years ago I was 'death' (more like a serial killer who wore a skull mask :P ) and I can't even remeber what I was last year. I often end up buying everything I need for a costume at the dollar store. Hu noez.

Cheers,

I've changed my mind.

To counter what will surely be the several Jack Sparrow's out there, I am going to be Captain Barbossa. I'm pretty much gonna create the costume myself, using different things from the Halloween store.

Count Olaf is the villain in A Series of Unfortunate Events books. Jim Carrey played him in the movie.

But, that's not who I'm being anymore, more people would recognize a Barbossa costume, even if they don't directly know his name.

I love the Halloween season, and especially this year. All my grandkids will be dressing as their favorite characters, and we will get to go along with them as them go trick-or-treating in our neighborhood. Should be a lot of fun.

Our two-year-old is going as Lightning McQueen pitcrew member, our three year old is going to be a Princess, she wanted to go as Ariel, but she just wants to be a princess this year. Our oldest granddaughter, she's 7, is going to go out as Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, because some of her friends are going as the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Wicked Witch.

I can't wait for next week.
