You have to empty the recycle bin.blackcauldron85 wrote:When you delete something and it goes into the recycle bin, does harddrive space automatically free up, or do you have to empty the recycle bin before harddrive space frees up?
Or if you're really sure you want to permanently delete something, you can hold down the "Shift" key while pressing "Delete" and then the file will not be sent to the Recycle Bin. I probably wouldn't recommend it for use all the time, because if you do this and then realise you've made a mistake, it will take more than pressing a button to get it back (it is sometimes possible to get deleted files back. (For anyone interested just google File Recovery program/application or search http://download.com)).PeterPanfan wrote:You have to empty the recycle bin.blackcauldron85 wrote:When you delete something and it goes into the recycle bin, does harddrive space automatically free up, or do you have to empty the recycle bin before harddrive space frees up?
