Copies of Spirited Away with the new packaging have started to show up, and it's numbered 13. The front cover image is the same as before, but with the obvious reformating to fit with the others. I lined it up with Pom Poko instore, and it looked great. I spotted it on Silverscreen Tottenham Court Road for £9.99, alongside older copies at the same price.
The only worry is that it seems to be a one-discer and the storyboards are nowhere to be mentioned amongst the features, so we'll have to wait until someone actually buys it to see whether that is true. I'm glad it has been repackaged so soon though, just to ease us 'shelf-worriers' thinking about investing in the line. It's probably worth looking out for Grave of the Fireflies now too.
HMV also have Pom and Porco at £16.99 each, but with £10 off when you buy both instore.

I was browsing for prices on Howl's, and suprisingly enough, HMV is showing the best price (that I've found so far)
£11.49
But not only that, this HMV exclusive also contains 3 artcards and an exclusive slipcover featuring alternative artwork! Bargin!

Picked up a copy of Laputa yesterday which I first saw about 15 years ago as a kid on telly, it really blew me away. Not had chance to watch it yet but I hope it's as good as I remember.

Considering Disney's choice of redubbing some of the TLM languages, It just popped into my head that the rereleased Ghibli movies may have new dubbing. The only one I already own from the older set of releases is Kiki's Delivery Service. Does anyone if this is the same dubbing on the new release?

I know some of the people who post here go to college, so I just thought I'd mention that you can
use your NUS cards or college discount cards on HMV.CO.UK.
I ordered Howl's Moving castle for
£11.49, and because of my discount, I've only spent
£10.34
Sure it's not saved me a huge amount of money, but it's alot better than nothing.

I bought this today from asda for a bargain £5.97 and I'm relieved to confirm that it does have two discs. I'm assuming that they have merely updated the packaging for the collection but the discs are the same as the original 2 disc release.

Does anyone know if Grave Of The Fireflies is going to be re-released with the Studio Ghibli collection banner on it, or should I just get the current edition?

Quel fromage! The Mouse returns!
I doubt that Grave of the Fireflies will be rereleased in the near future, after all i think that only happened with Spirited Away due to its high profile! I'd just go for the current version although sod's law dictates it will be rereleased the day after you buy the current version!

Too true, its on sale at my shop at the moment anyways and I wanted to do a 'My Neighbour Totoro'/'Grave Of The Fireflies' double bill sometime soon anyway so I'll just get the current version.

Got mine today, the cards are quite good.
They were of the cat bus, the group sitting on a branch over stream and of a totoro and little girl standing waiting to the cross road in the rain. Probably the same for everyone.

I know I don't live in the UK, but I just had to comment.
THE GHIBLI COLLECTION COVERS ARE BEAUTIFUL!!!! (most of them, anyways)
*is very jealous*

You guys are so lucky.
I have a question though. Is "My Neighbor Totoro" (the one in the Ghibli Collection) the old dub or the new dub? Just curious.
It's great that you guys are getting "Only Yesterday". It was aired once on tv in the US, and I got the chance to watch it. But I didn't think it was the best Ghibli film.

Hopefully Disney announces their US plans for Whisper and Only Yesterday sometime soon!
Whisper of the Heart is already out in the US, concurrent with the releases of "My Neighbor Totoro" and "Howl's Moving Castle."
And perhaps, with Disney approving a TCM (Turner Classic Movies) broadcast of the subbed "Only Yesterday" this past January, they may dub "Only Yesterday" soon.

Unfortunatley it looks like Only Yesterday has been delayed!!
The date has been changed to
2nd October

That is so stupid that they've delayed it so long, I heard it all because of the scene with the "womans trouble".
BTW guys "Grave Of The Fireflies" now has the new 'Collection' cover, its number 10.

I think it's more likely because optimum stated that the UK release of 'Only Yesterday' would have an English dub, but as yet Disney have not 'at least officially announced' that Only yesterday will even get an English dub.

This might be great news if Disney does, or is currently dubbing it, for release this autumn.

Hey Matty-Mouse, have you seen the spine of the new 'Grave of the Fireflies' release? It's just that in a mock up photo of it I saw, it had the 'collection' number at the top but no silver bar along the bottom that would make it fit ith the others - the text filled the whole rest of the spine.
Reeeeaaaaally hope they rectified it!!
