You know I have a huge tolerance level. I can tolerate about anything but this movie is stretching it real thin. I mean the images look great and all but all of the other elements that they're incorperating into it, that's what's streatching it. I really, REALLY, hope it doens't disappoint me.

I think Dumbo ran into the same problem. Why didn't anyone stand up for Bambi and say "no thanks"?

Yeah, it would have been great
but in the other hand, we wouldn´t have this nice images

Unfortunately, Disney is running out of classic stories to set to sequels which is probably why they are just now doing one of Walt's big five movies. (I know Fantasia was already done but that at least went to the theatres.) So Bambi might be the canary in the coalmine to test if they can do Snow White which they would be hounded for.
Of course, the DTV is not for movie buffs but for the family audiences. As much I do believe most of the DTVs are a waste of time, they do sell so there must some people who like them. So who am I to rain on their parade? (Of course, my twin boys love Bambi so they better not want this one.

I suppose for everyone who doesn't like something there is someone who does.

True, you wouldn't have those pictures and this topic would be nonexistent.
While Bambi may be a "stepping stone" to test the waters to see if the public will let Disney's early classics be touched, I really doubt they will go for Snow White again. Disney put his heart into that one when the studio had nothing and had everything to lose. Making a DTV show out of it ruins what the company was built on, and pretty much shows everything Walt wasn't after--money and cost cutting. Walt spent a lot more on Snow White than Roy would have wanted but in the end it was worth it. You don't get that with a DTV.

Well, altough I'm no fan of the movie I still know the importance it has.
And just by wathing the trailer I was like....
... for once, the Great Prince lost all his original personality and second all the animals just talk and talk and talk.....
Plus... mmmm,
Bambi 2? and it is a midquel? What are we suppose to do? Watch Bambi up until that part, the swith movies and again?
Plus... it is
not necessary. Why would they bother!!! You don't need to know what happened that time...

Yeah really, GP was a bad ass in the original movie. Now he's kind of a sissy. That was something that I said before.
I really hope they don't sing. I really, really hope they don't.

I really doubt he will sing
or even that it will be any song on the movie.
What I wonder now it´s how will this movie end, as a goodbye of Bambi and Faline or before Bambi and Faline´s re-encounter

Yeah you see that's what's stupid. In the original they act like they haven't seen each other after Bambi's mom dies. So they ask each other "do you remember me?" Meaning they haven't seen each other in a long time. Another reason why they should of left it alone.

Exactly!!! That's exactly right!!! They would of been better off making a sequel when Bambi was an adult and had to raise his kids. That actually would of been more interesting and it would of fit with the original. I mean they have a book (Bambi's Children) that explains the whole thing, they can base the movie off that. Even though Bambi's Chrildren wasn't as good as the original book from what I heard.

Very good point--I never even considered that Bambi and Faline actually meet again as if they haven't seen each other since they ran with the stags away from hunters. That would be quite a hurdle to jump since we know Faline is in this "mid-quel".
I warn Disney--if I even hear a song cue I'm turning it right off and sending it back.

Realistic forest animals do NOT sing. Background songs like they did in the original is fine with me.

I like the idea of the story. Bambi's father was a bad ass and my favorite character in the film. So seeing more of his character is a treat. I do really hope that they dont sing.

Well they sung in The Lion King so they're probably asking "Hey why don't we let them sing in Bambi? Yeahhhhh!!!!"

I'm telling ya if they do I'm literally taking the DVD outside, fling it in the air and blast it with my 12 gauge.

I...I'l...I'll set the building on fire!
BTW- Welcome to the Forum Superman!!!! I hope you enjoy it!
You know all this talk about Bambi reminds me that I have to get ready for hunting myself. I got a pack a few things here. Guns...Ammo...Beer.

I agree the Prince was a bad ass in Bambi but it was it was he was silent and let his demeanor do all the talking. The lines I remember him saying was "I don't think your mother can be with you anymore" and "Bambi, Get Up! You must Get UP!" Otherwise he is silent and standing tall like Clint Eastwood.
Now in Bambi II he is quoting Julie Andrews form the Princess Diaries and saying stuff like "A Prince does not woo who."
Believe me I could name at least a dozen reasons why I don't like this idea.

Yeah, I know the GP in this movie is not like the GP in the original movie.

That's exactly the same thing I've been pondering on since I heard a midquel to Bambi was to come, and I seriously have NO idea how they're going to take all of these animals off the screen to make this time jump. When I first saw Bambi and saw the sequense where Bambi and his father are walking away I though they were actually leaving to a place not in the forest they were now in, but according to this movie they'll still be there with every familiar friend as usual.
I'm really eager to find out how the movie will turn out and I don't even believe it's going to be bad, but the opposite, surpsingly good. I hope they'll do a beautiful cover for this one too as for the original movie and not make it look too kiddy and packed with characters.

Ha, you should read the book. Then it wont make sense to you what so ever.
