Took me awhile to get back to this thread, which I'm only doing to reply to some things.

Firstly, Laz, yeah, I re-read the whole Jessica Simpson thread and realized that I was generally agreeing with Guru over something that I had no real knowledge of, thus, proving you were right and I was really the one with all the hot air. And you've recently become a rather good poster in my eyes, essentially someone I enjoy reading replies to now that I'm in the mindset that you're not some attention-seeking miscreant trying to stir up trouble (I'm trying to compliment you by saying you're not that, I hope that's clear ;) ).

Alice, you are probably glad that this reached 3 pages, but probably really P.O.'ed that the majority of the 3 pages has nothing to do with the topic at hand. For that, I'm sorry and I wish I could have done something to stop it, not that I have that kind of power.

Naussica, if you have an opinion about homosexuality, save it for another thread, as this only asks Who is Gay, not Who is Gay, Who Isn't, and What's Your Opinion?

memnv, this isn't stupid, and somebody cares who's gay and straight if they started a topic about it.

Guru, we didn't need another post saying "not another gay thread!" Bandwidth, people!

I've actually heard that most of Europe is more accepting and comfortable with sexuality, and I think that Sweden has the lowest rate of STD's among teenagers since they're educated much better on the topic than here in America.

Anyways, I doubt my voice will be heard here, but to respect Alice, can we place have any other replies simply be what he wants to know? Which is the very simple question, "Who is Gay?"

In honor of this I decided to reread the whole entire Rosie thing. I must say there were LOADS of arguments! I even regret a few things I said. I wonder if other people regret things they said in that post or if they just forgot about it.

Anyway responding to the original question: I'm not gay! I'm straight! (Sorry Siren, had to say it)

I debated on making a contribution to this thread, not because I'm afraid of stirring up the kind of controversy seen in the infamous Rosie thread, but because I've admittedly been on an emotional roller coaster for the past week and a half.

I have said this here before and I'll probably say it again: I am bisexual. And it's hard to openly be yourself when so many people tell you that you're going to hell over thoughts and feelings that are just a part of who you are.

Being gay or bi does not inflict pain on others, so why does the debate get so heated? Why are gays and bisexuals seen as such a threat by so many and why do people think it's okay to claim that they are better than others because they happened to be born straight?

I, for one, am happy with my sexuality, but getting to be that way was a long and winding road. Now it's just a part of who I am.

Sure, real hilarious. No, gay means that if I'm a man (which I am), I am attracted to other men, in a way conducive to non-plutonic love and sex.

Well, if you want to get technical, yes it does. Actually, I do resent being called gay just because I'm a homosexual. It's just part of our culture. Homosexuals aren't that politically correct if they're going to refer to themselves as gay. I guess it was embraced because homosexual sounds dark and mysterious. The lesbians are the ones who like to be perceived as dark and mysterious, because they're sick of being seen as masculine or like they really care what heterosexual men think.
