1.
Batman Begins - As Mary Poppins says, practically perfect in every way. The Dark Knight lives! 10/10
2.
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - Genius is a word that would describe this movie in short.

Jonny Depp is great as usual, Tim Burton delivers a stylized and funny film! And the Ompa songs steal the show! One of the best movies of the year! 9.5/10
3.
War of the Worlds - Never have I been so scared while watching a movie. Spielberg really defines fear in a new way. 9.5/10
4.
Star Wars Episode III - I love the new trilogy, despite some horrible dialouge and acting. Story was very engaging and tragic. 9/10
5.
Closer - This movie is beautiful. Acting is great, and the story is a fresh change from the usual romance stories. Just barely ranks under Revenge of the Sith. 8.5/10
6.
Tim Burton's "The Corpse Bride" - Fun fun and more fun! I enjoyed this from beginning to end. Songs and score were terrific, and the atmosphere achieved was amazing! I found the story to stretch a bit thin near the middle but it quickly picked up speed from there! Terrific characters, and a great cast of voices. Jonny Depp is great! Overall 8/10! Great fun, but I'm not sure how it'll hold with repeat viewings...
7.
Million Dollar Baby - Although the theme of Rocky is recycled here, this movie does it the best. Negative was it was
too slow at parts. 8/10
8.
Sin City - This one sure is a mixed bag for me. On the one hand photography is beautiful. Acting, dialogue, stunts, atmosphere. All amazing. I was blown away at times. But then comes the storyline. I could not see what the hell was so original about it! Nothing about the
story was unique. In fact, the first and second stories were also entirely unbelievable. Who goes out on a killing fest for a girl he hardly knows / a girl he doesn't even love. The third story was great though. Overall, 8/10 for pure originality.
9.
Phantom of the Opera - I love musicals, and this is no exception. Some plot points are confusing, but overall this movie delivers great enterainment, and a great love story. 7.5/10
10.
Crash - Well, I am disappointed. There were too many stories going on at once, leading me to not care about any of them. Strong points are this director actually got Sandra to act good for a change (same goes for Brandon)! Overall, only so-so.... I give it credit for effort, good acting and nice dialouge. 7/10
11.
Robots - While an enjoyable flick, and far beyond the likes of stupid toilet jokes, it's really nothing special. Aside from a few chuckles, I found myself quite bored seeing the same routines over and over again. Overall, a harmless viewing, but nothing to write home about. 7/10
12.
The Island - Not bad, but nothing good either. I went out of the movie feeling a sence of deja vu. Been there, done that, only with better acting. I had a fun 2 hours, but it ends with that. 6/10
13.
The 40-Year-Old Virgin - What's all the hype about? Just another lame comedy... 'Nuff said. 5/10
14.
Fantastic 4 - Ranks right up there with Electra and Catwoman...

4/10
Movies I am anxious to see. The lower the ranking, the less it's likely for me to catch it in theatres:
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe - *****
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire - ****1/2
Mr. And Mrs. Smith - ****
King Kong - ***1/2 (amusing really, since the trailer looked dumb to me).
The Legend of Zoro - ***1/2
The New World - ***1/2
Howl's Moving Castle - *
Last one will most likely be a DVD viewing for me. =)
