Oh poops. I don't like it much. I don't like how Snow White and the Queen look. The rest are ok.... I can live with it, but I prefer the last edition's cover. Oh well. I'll buy it anyway.....

Certainly not what a Platinum Edition of SnowWhite deserves. Good enough for a sequel, for a poster included in a Disney Princess magazine, for a video game. Seriously now, what on earth is this? I wonder who gets paid to design such a coverart.
The previous cover was so artistic, classy, elegant, minimal and yet so full of emotion while SnowWhite was designed according to what she looked like in the film. They had captured the most powerful and recognizable part of the movie. Now , we have her smiling at us like a silly saturday-morning-cartoon-chick.
Yes I love the background and the fact that they included the prince. But if the leading lady of the film looks terrible, the whole coverart is doomed. The background is created to support the character, not the character to support the background. that is, it'd be much better if we had a poorer setting and an on-model Snow White.

Calm down, I'm sure this isn't the final cover art.

They need to retouch the faces and that's all.

I think it will be perfect! :D

I'll state how I feel about covers again: The only times I see them are A) When I buy the DVD, B) When I place it off the shelf, C) When I remove the DVD to put in th player.

The case isn't framed on my wall like a painting, or propped up on a shelf like a picture - it's just a case that will spend 98% of its lifetime on a shelf, where only the spine is visible.

So "bad" cover art is nothing to fret over!

Where did this Blu Ray cover originate from? As far as I've read there has been no information as to where this Blu Ray Cover Art has appeared from for example : " as reported in the Digital Bits " or whatever?

I just wish the title were in some sort of shield/border. I was looking forward to see what they'd come up with for SW and BatB.

i think i fixed the cover art. couldn't do anything with the title because of the lack of anything flat colored behind it, even though i hate it and wish it had a shield or something behind it. but i think snow white is more on model and i fixed the queen a bit. this is how it should look in my opinion... even though i still hate it i think it's an improvement.

That SW is almost on model, good job!

Why not use the Witch in the new Cover Art?

There are several "icons" involved in the Snow White story - the Magic Mirror ( already used in the (hopefully first draft !! ) of the new cover ) - the Wicked Queen's Heart Box , and finally the Poisoned Apple , all of these items are possibles for the Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs Cover Art.

In the first Platinum Edition the Apple was used as the image of Snow White was about to " Take A Bite" !! Though she is a crucial character within the movie strangely - the Witch/Peddler Woman - has rarely been used in any poster imagery!!

That one is much, much better, nomad2010. Snow White actually looks like herself.

Were there any bonus features announced for this edition? Do you think there's any chance they might complete "Music In Your Soup" and put it back in the movie?

I sincerely doubt they'd put it back in the movie. For one, adding new footage was really Eisner's thing, and two, it's one thing to add deleted scenes when you have most of the creative team still around, but another thing when most of them are dead.

Nice cover art. I'm not going to get the Platinum Edition DVD when it comes out, because I'm keeping the 2001 Platinum Edition myself. The first edition release was from October 2001, a month after 9/11.

you know what i have been thinking? the shield design they often use on the covers should be shaped as an apple. the apple, the main piece of the entire movie is not even featured on this cover art. it'd be a great place to stick the title.

What was the reason for cutting it out of the movie anyway? Budget limitations?

I don't think that The Music in Your Soup should be put back in the movie , after all Walt Disney cut it out as he felt that it was slowing down the movie!

However it would be great to have it finished ( ie inked and painted etc ) as a separate piece of finished animation!
