A lot of these people here are emotional and sensitive little tools so it's obvious that they would freak the fuck out from your challenging and "radical" ideals & beliefs.

But on a couple of occasions people have gotten the wrong impression of me because I've debated a subject with them and they've accused me of 'deliberately causing a problem', even when they knew we were entering a debate, and I didn't let the debate affect our relationship....

Goliath- Debates are stupid. Everyone should just keep their opinions to themselves and get along.

G, you go too far sometimes and you should be the first to admit it. When someone says something I don't like, I can handle it. I wait for them to aim it to me personally before I give them a kick. Because I don't think it's a good thing to say something nasty to someone who isn't doing something insulting to me (like merlinjones- talking to people like they aren't there, or Wmd- talking down to other people because he's religious). Maybe you think they go after you first... Instead, you tried to paint me as a heterophobe (and not because there's any truth to it, you merely said it to piss me off), while at the same time saying fans of Lady Gaga were stupid. If this is a matter of simple misunderstanding, you don't give the other person any room to make it clear that are not insulting you first.

And when it comes to music- you try to win debates with me by shouting me down. That's become your style. You yell "Bullshit" and you think that's the end. You win? Hardly. And of course, you cover yourself by telling me how I meant what I said as an insult to you... You forget that the only reason I kept that Best Albums of the Decade discussion going with you because I was trying to respect you too and you were highly dismissive of several things I said.

Some arguments are abstract, and you're incapable of telling the other person- "I'm not getting what you're saying." That is what a nice person does. Instead, you actually insult them and call them retarded or stupid. I wonder sometimes- are you capable of replying to an argument you think is foolish without trying to make the other person angry because you think their foolish argument makes them worthy of ridicule. And you don't do anything half-assed: when you go after that other person, you seek to anger and offend. We all express ourselves in different ways. Some of us don't make great arguments. That does not mean we are hard in the head or deserve to be insulted.

Sorry if you're looking at this in shocked expression, but... damn it- you insisted on talking about yourself. I don't think you're all that nice (and yeah, since I'm one to talk- I admit... neither am I but then, you're the first person to tell me how different we are). But I live in eternal hope that... well, something will change.

I just wanted to say I did not feel what ajmrowland did was a personal attack. If you think it was CJ, I respect that, but I wanted to let him and you know I didn't feel like it was, so at least I don't think it was meant that way. I mean, I thought it was kind of a joke because I thought Goliath purposely didn't try to be nice because he didn't want to be just nice. Did Goliath make a complaint about it?

Disney Duster, no one reported anything or complained about that one. It's one I caught on my own, and I am in a very zero tolerance mood with the entire forum right now.

On a side note, Duster, if you re-read the post, you will notice their was no warning for him (it was his first slip up and I made allowances for that). I just want him and everyone else know what I am considering a personal attack from this point on. Also, when I do issue a warning, I will very clearly state that it is a warning.

Thanks for your input, Duster, I appreciate your concerns. It allowed me to provide some needed clarification on the subject.

I do hope that we can still speak our minds really freely here, it is something I love about this place. There are things I thought were really extreme that people said, but other things I thought were okay. But it is of course your call, and I respect it.
