Dan Lund wrote:Currently I am designing awesome magic for Disney's next feature Frozen. I show up to work every day expected to look at a blank piece of paper or sit in a room with a very ruff story point and try to bring it to life through a cool new effect that supports the film, its style, tone and schedule.

Dan Lund wrote:I’m currently still an animator at Disney, but now they’re doing more computer-generated (CG) films and I’m not a CG guy at all—I’m techno-phobic. I also do a lot of independent projects. For the film “Frozen,” I started pitching effects in a narrative way, so these effects are more attached to the emotions of the movie, which has never really been done before. It’s a very balls-to-the-wall musical, so there was lot of opportunity for me to design crazy, fun things that you don’t see every day. [...] I enjoyed “Frozen” because I created this new job for myself—I felt more creatively charged than I ever have.

Mattel is looking to soak up some success from upcoming The Walt Disney Company movies such as "Planes" which may help boost sales amongst boys, as well as upcoming movies like "Frozen" which features a heroine that will hopefully translate into better Barbie sales -- which have been struggling as of late.

It looks like a remake of Ice Age but with a snowman instead!

Oh thank you Sotiris ! Didn't know how to link from Twitter.
It looks even worse viewing it again.
If the snowman wasnt there it would at least raise some questions about the plotline etc...but this just looks a joke with that awful clipart so rudely plonked in the middle of it.

They are taking the Tangled shitty marketing campaign and running with it - this is much worse then any Tangled poster we saw.
Disappointed Disney. . . .

It looks like this will be the international poster (except for France and Japan of course who get special treatment). Disney Netherlands also released the poster for Frozen and it's the same one.

i love the animation on it. I'm willing to overlook Olaf just because of the brilliant animation.

Goodness, really ? It looks painfully unprofessional. The background is lovely, but you can't get more 'we just quickly cut and pasted the snowman in to appeal to the kiddie/Dreamworks audience'.

We can't always get the poster that we want, and i've already accepted that from Disney.
The first Anna one was perfect.
I had problems with the Elsa one.
And this has really nice animation, with the exception of "Frozen" and Olaf. I like the ice and the water.

Man, it's interesting watching the reactions to every info/art reveal around the net. It's almost pound for pound how people acted before Tangled came out (as in, "ew I hate this so disappointed")
like is there really nothing worth admiring about this? Personally I wouldn't hang the new poster on my wall but the ice and snow look incredible. It really looks freezing cold. And I think Olaf in a swim ring is funny -shrug-
Everyone is of course entitled to an opinion but is that opinion always nope hate it? It seems that way sometimes.
To be blunt I doubt Disney cares if the ads are artful and lovely to their adult viewers: the point is to draw in children. It worked for Tangled with the neutral title and action-y ads, so of course they would employ that strategy again. All I need is one "pretty" poster I can keep, and I already like the ones with Anna & Elsa.
I guess my point is who cares about the small stuff, it's the quality of the movie itself that matters.

I think because the whole movie has been cloaked in mystery etc for so long, people latch on to the smaller things, which I suppose is partly Disneys fault.

That's a good point. Seeing as November is so close, I really hope they start rolling out more info soon: artwork is one thing, but I know I'm dying for something more substantial like a track list (actually I just really want that in particular lol)
And aren't we due an American trailer proper in August? I didn't hate the teaser but I really want to hear that English cast at work.

...animation is not in any way involved on a static movie poster.
